Tinkering with things. Having found a car down in their secret base, her glasses had glinted in appropriately sinister manner and she'd gotten to work.
Yuka, Miyo, and Sayuri were engaged in other activities now that the boss was gone for the moment. Yuka was reading romance comics. Sayuri was doing homework. Miyo was studying a day-old newspaper.
"I could use a really strong cup of tea," said Shampoo in her British accent.
Nobody answered, which was a pity in Shampoo's opinion. She'd worked with Danburite in England, though he'd been a bit obsessive and entirely too dismissive of the culture there. She could also use some cheese. She could really use some of that Edam on a cracker right about now. Not because she needed to consume human foodstuffs, but because of the taste.
Having neither tea nor cheese nor even a cracker at present, Shampoo instead focussed on the gadgets.
"LUNA?!"
The bartender looked from the white cat back to the black cat and then back to the white cat. Then he just shrugged and went back to polishing shot glasses.
"Luna, what are you doing?" asked Artemis, staring at the cat sitting on the bar.
"Whash it look like?" asked Luna in reply. "Thish ish so meshed up."
"Uhm," said Artemis, looking up at the bartender.
"She's been drinking Kahlua & Cream, four glasses so far," said the bartender, apparently unconcerned about the fact that he had two talking cats in his bar.
"Ah," said Artemis. "You get many talking cats in here?"
"Night's still young," said the bartender.
Artemis blinked at that, not sure how to handle this, when he finally decided to just ignore it. He'd have his paws full with Luna anyway.
