So, she stood back, sipped her juice, and smirked at the sounds coming out of the dojo. "Seems like she's going to be at this for a long while. Course, she's always been pumped about that hero stuff, and never been really quiet."
"She must be a tomboy then," Michiru murmured as she sipped her own drink.
"Pretty much. Don't ask her to think a lot though."
"Is that so?"
"Yeah. She's always real open to people and has to get involved and go head on against people."
"Just like Haruka," the Siren commented. "Always having to compete...."
"Lucky that they have us around, isn't it?"
"True. But there is a benefit to it sometimes."
"How's that?"
The pokegirl smiled at her. "They can be so cute sometimes, especially when they're all frustrated."
"You're right about that. Really right...."
The first time that she saw the eyes as she and her mother prepared food for their guests, Kasumi wasn't sure that she'd seen them.
When she saw them the second time, they saw her looking back and widened it surprise and worry before vanishing.
On the third time that they slid into her view, she saw wistfulness and concern warring in those vulnerable violet depths.
And that time, her mother took note of the watcher at the same time that she did. Kimiko moved before the bearer of those eyes could dart away again, and moved to look at her with a kind gaze. "Are you interested in what we're doing?"
A shy sound came from the one who had been watching them, which sounded like she wanted to agree, but wasn't sure if she could be so bold.
"Would you like to help us?"
This time, clear interest was shown at the same time that a little nod was given.
"Come on then. No need to be worried. Just come on, and you can be our helper," Kimiko gently murmured as she guided the girl out into the kitchen proper.
Hotaru looked a little unsure of what was going on, but was willing to trust in the woman. But she quickly found that she had nothing to worry about, as Kimiko slowly moved her over and started to show her how to wash vegetables. Glancing over, she sent a shy smile to the other girl in the room that had an apologetic tone to it.
That settled it for Kasumi, who smiled back at her, and went to help her mother teach the timid pokegirl the beginnings of cooking, while:
