"So this is the place?" asked Ranma.
"C'mon, let me show you the dojo!" exclaimed Akane.
There were a lot of differences here.
For one thing, none of them (except Soun) knew about the engagement. Soun was reluctant to speak because his wife hadn't exactly approved of the whole 'training under an internationally known panty-thief' idea and the more he thought about it - the more likely it was that other details might end up coming out if he said something right now.
His wife knew something was up, she knew her husband well enough for that. She had other things on her mind right now, and merely noted it for later followup.
Genma, miles away, was in severe pain. However, a little morphine was applied and he settled into a pleasant dream.
"We can rebuild him. Better, faster, stronger," said one observer from the government.
"Can't do anything about 'smarter', eh?" asked another.
"There are limits," admitted the surgeon. "Though I thought all we were going to do was surgically insert a homing device."
"That'll have to do then," said the first observer.
"Just a friendly little spar," said Akane.
"Okay," said Ranma, a little nervously.
"Not you," said Akane, dismissing the boy. "Her!"
"Me?" asked Haruka.
"Yeah, I saw your moves on TV!" exclaimed Akane.
"Well, I didn't say I wouldn't," protested Ranma.
"Okay, then, I guess," said Haruka, not sure about this either.
