Ranma was nearly giddy with excitement. "You mean I get a wish?" He was about to enter his trademark "Never gonna be a girl again!" routine when the girl snorted.
"Did I come out of a lamp? No! I get to choose your gift, and it will be... this!" She snapped her fingers and an ancient scroll appeared in her hand. There was a picture of a martial artist wearing an orange gi and some strange, gravity-defying hair. Ranma looked at it and raised an eyebrow in confusion. "A Martial arts technique?" He snatched it greedily and opened it quickly. The genie huffed at his rudeness and crossed her arms.
"Well?"
"This technique... it's... impossible!" His eyes were bugged out as he stared in disbelief at the technique described within the scroll.
"Well, smell ya later, kid," the genie shrugged as the walked away.
Ranma considered the possibilities of this scroll as he walked home. The power of flight through Chi: No longer would he be stuck on the ground as any average mortal! This technique was also perfect for his family style; The Saotome Ryu was an aerial school and could benefit from this ability.
Not only that, but he considered other things... Akane Air wouldn't be as annoying any more, And once he trained enough, he figured he would be able to move much faster through the air than on ground. Ranma finally stood before the Tendo Dojo and looked up. He pocketed the scroll as best he could and walked into the house.
Kasumi was working on dinner, and the fathers were playing a game of Shogi. Other than that, the house was quiet.
He could barely hold in his excitement. The ability to fly was something that was so good he wanted to share, but first, he had to master it himself... he also figured, that with Nabiki involved, he could get some sort of profit from the technique. Of course, he would have to negotiate with her, and he had to admit she was smarter than him, but he knew that this amazing ability had to at least be worth at least more than some girly photos. Maybe he could repay all his debts to her? Heck, she might still owe him something after this!
"Hey Oyaji, Where's Nabiki at?"
"She called earlier. She's going to be late tonight,"
"Boy, where's your Fiance?" Asked Genma roughly. "You should be more worried about her than anyone else," He didn't look up from the game.
"Uh, she said she's going to a sleep over. You mean she didn't tell you guys?"
"No, she didn't," Soun said. When Ranma finally walked away, the fathers were giddy.
"They're keeping secrets from us, Tendo," Genma said with a look of glee on his face. "You know what this means?"
"They're getting closer!" Tendo all but yelled. They both hugged each other as they celebrated, for the nth time, the coming marriage.
Meanwhile, in the Dojo, Ranma was meditating with the scroll before him. He opened his eyes and...
