Prince of the Moon: A Mother's Desire [Episode 161462]

by Mister-E

Pluto frowned as she leaned on her staff just slightly. It was so tempting, so very tempting to try and set everything back to its normal, orderly, Neo-Queen Serenity self...

So... Tempting...

But she wasn’t THAT foolish. Her attempts to steer the timeline back to normal resulted in this. And she narrowly avoided a few others. Such as the Bunny-Girl Senshi, the Prostitute Senshi (And if you though what Sailor Moon wore was revealing NOW…), Cyborg Senshi...

Don’t even go to the ones where Rei and Minako did a Beavis and Butthead impression.

Or when really perverted youma attacked the Inners and Saturn with the fallout being a very increased libido in all the girls.

Then there were the timelines where being a sex-slave to a dark and perverted Ranma Saotome trying to overthrow Queen Beryl was a godsend.

No, Ranma as the Prince of the Moon wasn’t very good, but she could do far, far worse.

And Crystal Tokyo was still there! It was just a lot bigger.

And there were other cities that survived the Great Freeze too, like Golden Moscow, Silver Vegas, and Bronze Toronto, which was STILL hated by every other surviving community in Canada.

And all those Skunk people came...

And a few other aliens as well...

And Earth would defrost eventually, and become the centre of an intergalactic federation of planets...

OK, so maybe this was a GOOD timeline. She still wanted her ideal ‘Perfect’ Crystal Tokyo, but this was a close second. And trying to force the timeline back to the original meant the risk of going to a far worse timeline, such as... The Telemarketer Senshi...

Yes, Prince Ranma was a very, very good thing...

Which meant uniting the Prince with his Senshi...

Not too hard considering he was on his way to Juuban...

Nodoka hummed to herself slightly as she led her son back to her house in the Juuban ward of Tokyo, happy to finally spend some quality time with her son.

Even if the... arrangements surrounding him were... stressed.

After the failed marriage Nodoka decided to put her foot down and gave Ranma and Akane the peace they needed to form a relationship. She had requested Cologne to keep Shampoo away from her son, and if it was within their customs to divorce them immediately. As she expected, her word as Ranma’s mother gave her considerable weight in such matters, and Cologne agreed to both, albeit reluctantly.

Ukyo was far more difficult to deal with, but eventually agreed as long as she was allowed to pursue a friendship with her son. After a moment she had agreed, with a stern warning not to pursue Ranma romantically. Oh she didn’t mind if her son took a mistress or three, but he should get to know his future wife first after all.

Kodachi was easier to deal with than expected, she had originally thought the girl was too insane to listen but possibly due to her own departed mother, she had conceded to her request to stay away from her son. She didn’t speak with Tatewaki Kuno, since the Lady of House Kuno stressed as Ranma’s mother he might attack her for ‘giving birth to the most foul sorcerer’.

With Shampoo out of the picture Mousse calmed considerably, and Ryoga seemed rather interested in a pig farmer somewhere, so he wasn’t much of a bother.

A flash of the family steel cowed Soun and Genma into backing away, letting her take the matter of the Schools into her own hands.

So, free of all obligations and rivals (Kuno didn’t count in Ranma’s mind, and Nodoka wasn’t competent with that sword of hers to really take care of it herself) Ranma and Akane had the chance to develop a near normal relationship, and fall in love without pressure. She had thought this would allow them the chance to finally admit their love.

It didn’t happen. Ranma and Akane gave it an honest try, even going on dates, holding hands, and even a peck on the cheek, but there was no spark, no desire... Simply put if they had been in love they had fallen out of it long ago. And both had come before her, saying that it simply would not work between them.

It would have been easy, so easy to make them marry... Pull out her contract, tell him to marry or be deemed unmanly, use the threat of death or dishonour...

She had torn the contract apart shortly having falling into that line of thought.

She had been torn from her son for a decade. Ten. Long. Years. Her only claim as his mother was that she gave birth to him, did that make her a parent? If she strong-armed her son into marriage would he be happy? Would he love her or fear her?

Thus she had asked Ranma to come to Juuban to live with her, and spend some time with her. As she herself put it ‘I want the chance to be a mother again...’

Ranma had packed his meagre belongings up within five minutes. Leaving the Tendo household had been an emotional, Kasumi had given him a bento to see him on his way. Nabiki a warm hug and saying not to worry about his little ‘debt’, and as for Akane both had parted, wishing the other the best of luck.

She did smack him playfully though.

Genma and Soun pleaded not to take Ranma away, and how the schools must be joined, but another flash of steel had shut them up, allowing her to bring her son to the home he hadn’t set foot in for far too long.

“Here we are, finally!” Nodoka said as she opened her door open, stepping aside as she smiled warmly as her son. “Welcome home dear!”
