Of course, seeing one's father, a man who was always prattling on about the importance of being 'manly', was currently hugging another man so that their bodies were crushed against the other's.
"Oh, Saotome, you don't know how I've missed you!" the other man cried out.
Genma gave an emphatic nod. "I can imagine! For me, it's been entirely too long since we've been together like this!"
"I do believe that I am gonna hurl," Ranma muttered with a flat look towards the two men. "What the heck is this supposedta be anyway?"
"Getting a floor show, are we?" drawled a familiar face, and he glanced over to see a half-amused, half-disturbed Nabiki coming up to him with her sisters right behind her.
"I take it that the guy makin' with the 'emotional reunion' with my Pop is your dad?"
"Yes, it is."
"Ahhh...."
Akane scowled at the two fathers, but directed her words towards her friend. "Have they been...."
"Since just after we'd gotten here."
"Man...."
"Ya said it."
"I think that it's nice that they're so happy to be together again," Kasumi commented.
Letting her lips curl up at one side, Nabiki glanced over at her elder sister out of the corner of her eye. "Is that what you call this?"
"Well.... they are happy...."
"There's no question of that."
"Ah-heh...."
"What I want to know is when they're going to notice that someone else is here?" Akane grumbled.
"There's a simple way ta make them stop," Ranma told her.
"There is?"
"Sure," the pigtailed boy replied, and crossed his arms over his chest. "Just how long d'ya plan on holdin' the guy there, Pop?!"
"I was trying to avoid that...."
"But it'll work. Looks like the two of 'em aren't caught up in each other any more."
"And do you have a problem with that boy?!" his father demanded.
"Only when it's startin' ta look kinda funny!"
"You do not the understand the sort of bond that can come up between two men!"
The teenaged Saotome snorted, and turned his nose up at his parent. "I know that guys can be really close...."
"Even more than 'close'! Tendo and I have a loving bond that was born out of hardship and strife!"
"I am so not touching that one," Nabiki hissed under her breath.
"The two of us will always be companions, won't we, Tendo?"
"But of course, Saotome," Soun agreed. "With what we've done together, our lives are almost as one!"
"You were saying?" Akane asked flatly.
Kasumi simply let out a small nervous laugh.
"Now, boy, you shall make sure that our two families are bound closer together," the Saotome patriarch declared.
The Tendo father took a pose of supreme wisdom, what with his facial expression being one of deep thought. "Quite right, Saotome."
"Now, Tendo, I'd like you to meet my ungrateful...."
"HEY!" Ranma blurted.
Genma continued on like he hadn't heard a thing. "Yet highly skilled, son, Ranma, who is sixteen."
"And these are my three daughters," Soun responded, and pointed towards the girls in question. "Kasumi, nineteen. Nabiki, seventeen. And Akane, sixteen. Pick any one of them, and she'll be your bride, son."
"So, which one are you going to chose, boy?"
For a moment, it looked like Ranma was going to give some sort of major speech with his arrogant tilt of his head, and single raised hand... but then he merely relaxed like he found the situation to be nothing important. "None of 'em."
"WHAT?!" went both fathers.
"And why is that?!" Genma snarled.
"Simple," Ranma answered, glaring right back at his father. "It's because:
