Scroll Saga: Open [Episode 161605]

Ranma sighed as he went through another basic kata, trying to get Akane to follow his lead. Well, basic for him, anyway.

"Hey, thunder thighs, can't you do anything right? This is the easy stuff!" He asked impatiently. Akane growled as she tried to imitate him.

"Some of us have lives outside of martial arts," she said angrily as she attempted to do the kata once again.

"You keep over-extending," Ranma said impatiently. He sighed and put his hand on his forehead as she fell over for the nth time that day. "Okay, that's it for now," He muttered. "Go take a break." Akane glared at him as she left to get some water. Ranma sat down, realizing that he hadn't even broken out in a light sweat. "Man, just how far behind has she gotten? I thought she was better than that," Ranma muttered. He looked at his hands and sighed. "Why am I being so impatient? I feel like I should be doing something else...Like I'm missing out on something huge,"

"I hear talking to oneself is often a sign of one going mad, Saotome," Nabiki said from behind him.

"That's sempai," he absently corrected. "And I can hear myself better when I talk."

"I should hope so," Nabiki snickered. "Wouldn't want you to hear yourself worse when you actually make sounds,"

Ranma blinked as he tried to make sense of that.

"Yeah. That would be bad."

"So, Kuno-sempai," Nabiki started. "What do you suppose it is you're 'Missing out on'?"

Ranma visibly shuddered. "Call me anything but that," he said. He blinked as he realized what he'd just done. He turned to face the smirking girl and frowned.

"Whatever you say, Ranma," She said, sitting down behind him. "But you still didn't answer my question."

Ranma faced forward and looked at her from the corner of his eyes. "Don't you have some training to do? Where's Pop and Tendo-san?" He asked.

Nabiki smiled at his comment. "They're giving some special attention to Kasumi. But you really shouldn't try to redirect the conversation like that. It's impolite,"

"You're one to talk," Ranma sighed and looked down at the ground. Nabiki ignored him.

"Well?"

"...I don't know," He said. "I just know that something huge is going on...and I need to be a part of it."

Nabiki rolled her eyes. "If I were you, Saotome, I wouldn't worry about being a part of this thing you're talking about. I'd try relaxing and counting my remaining days before it came to me, which, knowing you, aren't very many at all."

Setsuna rubbed her temples as she looked at the Time Gates. Whatever was happening was happening fast. Some huge chaotic body, even more so than that of the being that had identified itself as Chaos, was currently growing steadily more powerful. Unfortunately, with nothing to draw on, she could do nothing about it. If it was truly harmless, as some of the last remaining Crystal Tokyo timelines showed, then she might be aggravating it into preventing Crystal Tokyo. She wasn't even sure if it was the Chaos emeralds or not, just that it was immensely powerful, and had the potential to become stronger than the Ginzuishou(Which was a very bad thing.) She went back to looking at references while silently debating whether or not to get involved.
