But she never expected to have her 'crash' become a 'splashdown'. It had stunned her, and for a long moment, all she could do was let the water guide her to where she would go. Things were a bit blurry then, and she'd had a hard time focusing, until the dizziness passed, and she was able to get her bearings.
As soon as that happened, her hands went to her throat as she found herself ready to gasp for air. However, there wasn't going to be a chance to do so, as it wasn't physically possible. That was going to be a problem, since she hadn't taken a breath since she'd hit the water.
And she was currently at the sea floor at the moment.
She began to choke as she tried to hold her breath... and she discovered that she wasn't feeling any ill effects from a lack of oxygen. In fact, she was feeling pretty good, and that confused her. Yet, there was more to baffle her to come.
Looking down, she saw that her chest was covered by a pair of shells that were set on her like a bikini top. Other than that, she didn't have any clothing on. Oddest of all though, was the fact that she had a nice long, and green /fish tail/ instead of her legs.
"I'm a mermaid..." she murmured to herself, and found it easy to swim a lazy 'figure eight'. "I'm a mermaid?"
"Dat is what you are," commented a male voice.
"Who said that?" she asked, turning to face the speaker.
"Why, I did. When I saw something happening, I came to check to see if anyone was hurt."
Michiru pointed a limp finger in his direction. "You're talking...."
"I would be hopin' that I could talk, I were you, considerin' how hurt you might have been."
"But you're a crab...."
"I beg your pardon. I'll have you know that I'm considered to be a most tolerant individual."
"Not 'crab' as in 'grouch'. 'Crab' as in the species."
"Oh, dat. I'm Horatio Felonious Ignacious Crustaceous Sebastian, the King's personal conductor. But you can call me Sebastian," the little red crab stated, puffing his chest up... or he would have, if he'd had a chest.
"The 'King'?"
"King Triton! Where have you been girl so dat you don't even know dat?"
"I've kind of been living above the surface of the water...." Michiru admitted, wondering why she'd been so open when she realized what she'd said.
"You have?"
"Yes, I have. And I was thinking of leaving here to head back there."
"Why would you want to be doin' dat?" Horatio asked.
"Pardon me?"
"The human world, it's a mess! Life under the sea is better than anything they got up there...."
She opened her mouth to respond, but didn't get a chance to say anything.

There was fish doing pirouettes, holding fins in almost waltz like movements, and others bouncing around to the beat.
That was all rather odd looking to Michiru, who tried to hide behind a coral column, but discovered that the fish had a tendency to swim around her. They turned simple locomotion into dance moves as they went by, all clearly trying to show off for her. But she was still trying to get past the fact that aquatic creatures could do things like conga lines and something that looked like a 'funky chicken'.

Michiru stared at the sight of fish, which had no hands, playing instruments. As there was a fish using its tail to play the tentacles of a pair of octopi who were holding them out taut, while another fish was blowing out what looked like a brass instrument without being able to breath, it was a bit strange to see. Yet, it sounded just like a band would on the surface.
