There was one event that drew the biggest audience of citizens in Crystal Tokyo. A regular event and, to be certain, one that helped to keep the subjects of the Crystal Throne, Light and Dark, assured that their benevolent and loving ruler still retained a measure of humanity.
The name of said event?
Chibi-Usagi's Bath Time.
The crowds were watching intently, waiting for the signs that the daily 'floor show' was about to begin. Snacks were bought and sold, picnics were set out and a festive feeling was in the air.
"Seventy-five crowns on Mercury, using a variation of her 'Aqua Rhapsody'!"
"Fourty on Minako's 'Love-Me Chain'!"
"Three hundred on a Trifecta! Uranus, Makoto and Luna!"
Oh, yes, the bookies were making a killing, as well.
Suddenly, from the crowd of viewers an the ground came a shout. "WATERSPOUT!" A tremendous shout rocked the grounds as everyone witnessed a pink blur began to ricochet from one area to another inside the crystalline structure of the Castle. Said streaking princess was pursued by flashes of color that signified the Senshi's use of their powers in the attempt in catching the runaway bather.
The action was fast-paced, wild and unpredictable; at least for the first two hours. Then, suddenly, the pink blur suddenly stopped dead in her tracks. People were confused at that, but waited until the sponsor broke in with an explanation.
"It was the Queen, using drugged food," announced Dr. Ami Mizuno, a few minutes later. There was a smaller cheer, mostly from the bookies and one lucky bettor. The viewers to the event left quietly after that.
Later, after the Small Lady was tied in her bed, er, tucked in for the night, Luna finally cornered the Senshi of Ice. Giving the blue-haired woman a smouldering glare. "Ami, why must that circus go on outside?"
Giving a wry chuckle to the incensed Mau, the intellectual explained. "That's simple, Luna. We live in a glass building, right?"
The cat-woman nodded.
Ami pushed her glasses up on her nose, still grinning. "So, if they're going to watch anyway, why not get something out of it?"
Luna blinked. "What do you mean?" she enquired.
The taller woman began to laugh. "Who do you think set up the bookies?" she managed to get out.
From her facefault, the Royal Advisor moaned, her tail thrashing in the air. "That explains all your new equipment," she sighed.
Hysterical giggling was her reply.
