" 'cuse me? What do ya mean by 'take his place'?"
The man's face became serious. "Are you sure you want to know?"
Ranma was confused. "What do ya mean 'am I sure I want ta know'?"
"All the information I'm about to tell you is top secret and may change your view of the world. That being said do you still want the truth?"
Ranma thought for a sec. "I never thought much of the world anyway."
The older man paused slightly before continuing. "Your great uncle was the head of a secretive organization called The Brain Trust Foundation. It is made up of some of the greatest fighters and scientists in the world. We are the people who observe the world and make the decisions behind the curtains."
To his credit Ranma somewhat understood. "So ya guys are kinda like a secret government tellin' what the other countries and stuff should do."
"In a sense, yes, but we also deal with other and more shadier businesses then the government. We have people in politics, Yakuza, businesses, and even in the military. We of the Brain Trust Foundation know everything."
Ranma got quiet trying to make up is mind. He was offered a place in an organization no one apparently knows about and yet they are everywhere and know everything. They deal with gangs, weapons and drugs, but they also deal with politics, business, and fighting. According to the guy, they had some of the best fighters in the world. Besides, his great uncle worked there and he may be able to rid himself of some problems.
Ranma was about to accept, but his dealings with Nabiki taught him better. "Whats the catch?" he asked.
The man gave him a ghost of a smile. "There is no real catch unless you count the extensive training you'd go through to become the head of the foundation."
That tidbit about training caught Ranma's attention.
"We also have extensive knowledge of your curse and have a way to cure it."
"You got a deal!" exclaimed Ranma.
Everyone attending the funeral stared at him. Ranma sweat dropped.
The man gave a light chuckle. "Well said Ranma Saotome. My name is:
