The first thing that happened after the light died down was that the screaming began and an airshow and leisurely day off descended at first into nightmare.
WHAT had happened was put aside in favor of immediate survival for those at one end of the affected area, or in the case of a few of those people - not so much an actual 'survival'.
Some stared in disbelief or shock or denial. Those were among the first victims.
Someone later would look at the large pseudo-reptiles and be able to classify the creatures as a tyrannosaurid. Not quite Tyrannosaurus Rex, but a close relative. Two young and two adults specifically.
There were those who did react to this disturbance. Most ran as if multiton carnivorous dinosaurs were chasing them, because they were.
Others, trained soldiers who knew where their weapons were at all times, just prayed for the few seconds necessary to get to their ammo and load it. The MPs and various security personnel drew their handguns and knew that it was just too damn little.
Except things were going a bit differently.
Ranma Saotome had been of a mind to run for cover himself. Fighting dinosaurs had not been on his day planner at all, nor did he remember learning any particular martial arts manuevers specific to the battling of such. He simply saw a little girl, staring and frozen at the sight of a toothy predator lunging for her - and reacted.
He'd grabbed the little girl and begun running and leaping and trying to avoid the creature which was on his tail, and he'd be scared later thank you very much. Right now he had almost pure adrenaline running through his veins and was not capable of realizing what was going on enough to merely be scared.
On the other hand, some of the Senshi had recovered enough to transform. Usagi would likely transform as soon as she got out of the crowd that was sweeping her along.
"Silence Glaive Surprise!"
"Crescent Beam!"
"Fire Soul!"
"Jupiter Thunder Crash!"
The big dinosaurs weren't sure what to make of the attacks, except that some of the prey was apparently more dangerous than others. The family of four oriented on these threats to take them down.
It had been long enough. Others now joined the battle.
