Newspapers the next day would be all over the place with tales of alien abduction or magical menaces or any number of other things. Still, things would calm down eventually and Yokosuka would join other areas such as the Lost Colony of Roanoke as something of urban legend. So many tales and interpretations and no real evidence would have people eventually ignoring it despite the scope of the event.
There was a bright flash and Yokosuka Naval Base was near the center of a twelve point four seven mile radius timeslip.
Gone, as Pluto had intended, was one Ranma Saotome of the Anything Goes School Of Martial Arts.
Gone, as Pluto had NOT intended, was the little girl he had rescued from an exploded lab several years ago - Hotaru Tomoe.
Gone, as Pluto had most definitely NOT intended, were also the Inner Senshi. Rei Hino, Usagi Tsukino, Ami Mizuno, Makoto Kino, Minako Aino. Poof. Gone. No longer even in the same timeline as her.
Reappearing in the same place as Yokosuka was a dead area. The coastline was of a distinctly different shape, the geology was wrong, and the plants and animals were also clearly not quite in keeping with the original.
Despite the light turnout for the air show, there being some competition for crowds on this particular day, there were still a fair number of attendees and a large number of commercial businesses open to take advantage of those crowds.
There were also the usual ships stationed there. USS Kitty Hawk, USS Chancellorville, USS Cowpens, USS Curtis Wilbur, USS John S. McCain, USS Fitzgerald, USS Stathem, USS Lassen, USS Gary, USS Vandegrift, and the USS Blue Ridge.
There was one other effect. If one had been anywhere near a certain Gates Of Time, one would have heard a scream of frustration.
