Macross Senshi: For A Martial Artist.... [Episode 162993]

by Kender

The situation wasn't exactly something that Ranma was entirely pleased with. After all, there were enemies who were apparently very willing to kill and were coming after some innocent people who couldn't fight back. That was not something that he felt particularly comfortable with, especially since there was a fight going on. He knew just how strong he was, and was completely certain that he could do something to help out.

So, when he saw his first opportunity to do so, he was ready to take it.

Leaping up to an air vent, he pulled off its cover, and dropped the metal grating down where no one would be hurt by it. He didn't want to cause pain to the people with him, as the opponents that he hoped to face were outside. That wasn't hard to do though, and soon he was shoving himself into the open vent. He crawled inside, ignoring the murmurs and stares, and started shimming through the metal pathway.

There was a battle being fought nearby, and he couldn't sit by and do nothing. What he was doing would be a big help for him, but hopefully wouldn't do much for his opponents. Instead of the relative safety of his practices, this was the real thing, and he wanted to make certain that he got it right.

Had the Jaffa thought about it, they might have tried sending something down through the air vents. Of course, the venting system was only open because nothing dangerous had been detected in them. If something that would harm those taking refuge inside was detected in the air system, it would close off any connection to the outside, and rely on recycled air.

They were rather focused though, as they were merely following regular tactics. Since the vents were purposefully put in places where it wasn't easy to access them, and the Jaffa were having success with the old 'blow open the door' routine, they didn't have a reason to try anything else.

However, they did have to stop when something dropped down in the middle of the group. At first, confusion reigned as they tried to figure out what to make of this development. And when they saw that it was a teenaged boy turned out to be what had been what was dropped, they could only stare.

That was all that Ranma needed to start his self appointed mission. Dashing forward, he caught one Jaffa warrior in the gut with a punch. Continuing the motion from the attack, he flipped the man away, and began to leap at another one. This warrior couldn't activate his helmet in time to stop the martial artist's knee from smashing into his face. As the sound of cracking bone was heard, the others pulled back a bit to face this new menace.

Unfortunately for them, they had never faced someone like him. He was a boy who treated leaps of several stories as something to not worry about. The Jaffa, who were more used to fighting in a more traditional style, had a lot of trouble handling the fact that there was a boy who was using the lack of short range attacks with their staff weapons, and constant movement to stop them.

If nothing else, it was going to be an interesting fight, while:
