If there was someone who was going to recognize the time period that the other Senshi were in, it was Sailor Pluto. She had enough experience in the time stream to be able to connect the clues to an actual era, given enough of them. That was lucky for her, since such an ability would allow her to go through time to find them, so long as they didn't go into an alternate time. However, she was reasonably certain that such a thing hadn't happened, and so she felt comfortable with at least being sure that she could find them.

Luckily for her, there were plenty of clues left behind that would tell her where, and when, they'd gone to. The island itself didn't look too out of place... so long as it was in an area that was cooler temperature wise. Seeing palm trees standing next to evergreens was a bit of a surprise, but she was able to recognize that it put her target area out of the tropical area that the island was in.

Then there was the fact that there were items that had a definite location attached to them. The technological level of some of the items that she saw resting in different places of the island could be found all over the world at some time or another, but the details were distinctively Japanese. And when she really looked at them, she saw that they were from a certain period.

Closing the book that she would never admit using as reference, she looked up at the Gate, and knew that she had sent the Senshi and Mamoru to Japan in the:
