(Saturn... Saturn...Sailor Saturn... Or just in case the name Saturn doesn't really ring any bells, the "final weapon" Senshi, that may or may not be still in statis someplace...)
More light, almost invisible strings... That led right into more clouded and "misty" spots. Well, thanks a lot.
Usagi put down the Silver Crystal, and sighed. Scanning for the elusive "Sailor Saturn" was turning out to as productive as trying to scan for Pluto. With Uranus and Neptune, she could at least scan what they were doing part of the time, but Pluto, and now this Saturn seemed to be neigh un-scan-able, as far as she could scan now, anyway.
Darn.
She poked around a bit, scanning for Pluto - no, as clouded as usual - and then scanning for The-Nepherenia-That-Was-To-Be-Her-Enemy and co, to differentiate that particular Being from other Nepherenias. No, no go, but she'd better get in the habit of regularly trying to check those and other Enemies out anyway - Every night seemed like a good idea, now that she thought about it. That way, they'd be less chance of her being blindsided...
It was so weird that her Queen Mother from a former life was called "Nepherenia", too, though!
She'd think about what what she'd overheard Uranus and Neptune talking about, later. She didn't really have much memories of actually being the Moon Princess at all, even now, but -
Well, maybe it was better that way?
She could remember meeting Endymion in the rose garden, and his death, but besides those splinters and some very vague others digging deep into her mind someplace - no clue.
Note to self : Ask "Mother" about her former self - and her friends - the next time she went to see her. She wasn't doubting that there would be a next time, not any more.
OK, then. Back to the problem of the little girl - Hotaru-chan, eh? The nameplate on the house had said Tomoe, so her name had to be Tomoe Hotaru - and her father.
Damn. She still wasn't even getting close to figuring out that problem...
She thought about the - things - infesting the little girl and her father. The one in the father didn't feel too powerful - she could probably get rid of it if she was willing to use some of the Silver Crystal's energy, and not such a large amount of it at that.
The thing in the little girl, though - that was another matter entirely. Not to mention that it - seemed like it was even keeping her alive in some ways, the way in had seemed to sink it's roots into her very life-force...
Hah. Usagi sighed. Time to call for - more opinions, at the very least, she supposed...
Two days later, Usagi, all the Inners, both cats, and Mamoru were all gathered near the Tomoe house.
"So this is where you've been having dreams, huh, Usagi-chan?"
Rei muttered.
"Well, I think there're just dreams, but just in case..."
Ami took out her Mercury comp.
"There isn't anything showing here, but... Well, that doesn't really prove anything, I suppose..."
"There's - "
Mamoru muttered, and stopped, putting his hand to his hair.
"What, Mamo-chan?" "Mamoru-san?"
"I don't know, it just sort of feels - all cloudy, or something..."
Hmmmmm.
"Well, it does feel sorta "off", now that I think about it..."
Makoto murmured. Rei snorted.
"Well, yes, but there's many, many things in a big city that feel "off", you know - I can't feel anything that feels any more "off" then usual, if you get my drift?"
And that seemed to be the general consensus, to that.
They even passed a little purple-eyed girl coming home from school alone, on their way home. Mamoru almost dropped his icecream cone on her, and apologized profusely for dripping on her school-backpack, but that was it. Nobody seemed to feel anything amiss about the girl at all.
Except her, that is.
Rei called that night, and said her fire-reading had been "all cloudy", too. Ahh, well.
It couldn't be helped...
But now what? <
