Setsuna's Fault - Yamato: Like a Narn [Episode 164028]

by Kestral

The world had gone on developing in the path that it had had.

Then the great ships had appeared, moving into near space. They came first with overtures of friendship. When those were accepted, and their places entrenched on the planet, the real intentions came out with a bang.

A literal bang. Within hours many of the native military and defense bases had been obliterated, the aliens had seized control of the news media and government agencies, and it was well understood that resistance meant that your entire community would be expunged.

Recycling centers were set up so that large amounts of the human cattle could be ground up, purified, treated, and turned into something useful. Soil enrichment in some areas. Protein bars in another. The Centauri Republic had plans for this backwater little world, and the native population was entirely too numerous to not trim it down some.

Now the Earth had been pretty much pacified. Humans were slave labor at best. Referred to as monkeys by their Masters, they lived in fear and despair without the luxury of hope.

Now was a mere twenty years since the human race had been driven nearly to extinction.

There had been no Babylon Project. No human species reaching out into space. Humanity had instead concentrated all their resources on themselves and turned their back on the stars.

They had believed their only enemy was themselves. Now that it was too late, they knew better.

Ranma finally stopped pacing around the armored battlecruiser looking for something to vent on.

Belldandy and Urd and Skuld had come after some gal named Megumi Morisato and apparently that Belldandy's boyfriend and Megumi's brother was one of the guys who'd been on that plane - Keiichi Morisato.

Then there were these urban legends, even if Ranma hadn't ever heard of them before - apparently others had, called the Sailor Senshi. They thought that the island had been a setup for an attack, and that some Menace From Beyond had set this up as a trap. Ranma wasn't sure if that Keiichi guy was more believable than some magical cheerleader, but that was at least two potential explanations for this. That Sailor Mercury gal seemed to be busy, while the others weren't too sure what they could do. Finally that Sailor Jupiter gal started getting busy in the kitchen, but nobody wanted that Sailor Moon to do anything in there for some reason. Sailor Mars was looking like she was in some kinda shock and that Sailor Venus kept looking at some guy named Mamoru Chiba for some reason but that Moon girl was practically grafting herself on at every opportunity. Finally there was the one with the polearm, Sailor Saturn who looked awfully familiar for some reason and kept peeking at him when she apparently thought he wasn't looking. Weird.

There were others, some of whom he'd heard of as martial artists prior to this whole thing going bad. Such as-
