“So what do we do now?” asked Minako.
“First, I think Usagi should purify the meat,” said Setsuna. “Unless of course you want to roast it and risk infection.”
The girls quickly shook their heads.
“Good, see if you can get the new members of the tribe in the shot as well. We’ll kill two birds with one stone, and keep everyone healthy enough to move to better grounds.”
“Um ... Setsuna-mama?” asked Hotaru. “When will our ancestors get here?”
“Yeah,” said Makoto, looking up to the lifeless moon. “Come to think of it, we really don’t know much about the ancestors of the Silver Millennium.”
Setsuna sighed. “And I won’t be much help. I’ve never looked back to get a specific date, and some records didn’t start existing till about Serenity VI.”
“Then what about legends?” asked Rei. “After all, legends always have some truth to them.”
“Well, according to legends, our ancestors came to this system from elsewhere, refugees from the Sailor Wars against Chaos.”
“We know that from Galaxia,” added Usagi.
“Well, according to the legends, they first came here seeking a promised land, a place where they could live in peace. When they arrived, they were confronted by Lord Sol.”
“Lord Sol?” asked Ami. “Please don’t tell me he was some ancient enemy.”
“Quite the opposite,” said Setsuna. “The legends say he was a grand power, who gave some of himself so that the other worlds and their moons could house life. All that he asked was that we never touched Earth, which was already on its way to becoming the place which would lead to the two Kingdoms ruled by the House of Endymion and the House of Nova.”
“Beryl’s house?” asked Usagi.
Setsuna nodded. “In fact, it was quite possible that the reason Metallia came after Beryl was because she could have become the very first Sailor Earth.”
“WAH!” cried Usagi. “I killed a Senshi!”
“Anyway,” said Setsuna, ignoring Usagi’s outburst, “it was said that he forged the weapons of the Senshi as well, including the weapons that the Inner Senshi lost in the Great Fall. It was also rumored that when the refugees settled their new homes, he sent nine angels to choose the rulers and defenders for ... the ... new lands ... oh shit.”
The others could only stare at her as she paled, and slowly turned to Ranma. “Don’t tell me...”
“Tell you what?” asked Ami, looking back at her from the ground.
“I think ... I think we might be the founders of our own planets,” she replied.
The others could only stare at her. “How?” asked a silent Rei.
“It was said that a Senshi’s star seed could sense when a member of their line was in danger, or even nearby, if they had sufficient training. We must have located our ancestors, and placed them in charge.”
“But why didn’t I recognize Usa?” asked Usagi.
“You were barely trained,” said Setsuna. “In the past, Senshi were trained for decades before they took full active duty.”
“But then who is Lord Sol?” asked Michiru.
“Who do you think?” stated Setsuna. “By trying to stop his interference with the Senshi, I just placed us in the path of destiny.”
Ami gulped, as she looked down at the sleeping boy. “You mean ... he will be ... um ... he is?”
“Lord Sol,” said Setsuna. “And we are apparently going to be here for a lot longer than we had feared. Best estimates put the refugees not coming here for at least another 10,000 years. Even then, I can’t remember how long it was before the line of Pluto was given the Gates of Time.”
“At least that explains why our names are Roman and not Greek,” muttered Ami.
“How can he be Lord Sol?” asked Haruka. “He’s not even a Senshi.”
“Yet,” added Setsuna.
Their conversation stopped as said boy of interest yawned, stretching a bit, and smacking his chops. “Man, I’m hungry. What’s to eat?”
Small Club wondered why the Alpha’s mates all hit the ground so hard.
