Setsuna's Fault/Time Lost: Dinner and a Show [Episode 174624]

by The Demented Redhead

Small Club was finally able to understand. The new Alpha was not any male. Somehow, he had chosen Goddesses as mates. There was no other excuse.

The one with twin arm-hairs the color of the sun, had changed into weird skins that seemed to offer little in the way of keeping her warm. Then she summoned a weird stick. After the tribe had been gathered near the dead cat, she sent a pink sun at them.

This sun had given them all new life. Old Rock, who had been with the tribe the longest, said he no longer felt his body hurt like it had, ever since he had fought a Big Tooth when he was younger. Many said old wounds and some who had received wounds before the new Alpha, Sky Eyes, had killed the sick Scar-Face, found themselves now free of the wounds.

They also smelled a lot better to.

But soon all agreed, this new Goddess that was a mate of Sky Eyes, proved he was truly deserving of his title. He even directed her to do so. Why else would he not allow the great pink sun to hit him as well.

“Why are they all bowing to her?” grumbled Rei.

“To them, it must have seemed like Usagi had become a Goddess and cured them,” commented Ami. “I mean, its not like they can understand what she did.”

“Hell, we don’t even fully understand what we do,” said Minako. “We just know what works and what doesn’t.”

Usagi however, was basking in the attention of her new cult followers.

“You can cook the food now, Ranma,” sighed Setsuna.

“Right,” he said, stepping away from Usagi. He didn’t want to risk what that giant pink heart might do to his curse. He figured that with his luck, it would put him in some dainty little dress and lock him as a brain-dead female.

“So,” said Makoto, “should we tell him what we think?”

“Not yet,” said Setsuna. “We need to let Ami finish with her scans and simulations. The last thing we need is to hurry it along. We’ve got plenty of time.”

“Yeah, until he grows old and dies,” said Haruka. “Our powers will keep us young. How long will he have?”

“The work will take almost a year,” said Ami. “Without the main hub of the Mercury Computer around, my laptop can only do so much right now. And running through those magical analysis algorithms is taking a lot of the run time.”

“Take your time,” said Setsuna. “That is something we have plenty of.”

“So, do we have a plan?” asked Michiru. “If I remember my ancient Earth history correctly, this area won’t be good forever.”

“Very true,” said Setsuna. “As we speak, the Himalayas are growing taller, which will eventually begin to effect the global climate. As such, if we decide to try and establish a home until we ascend, if we ascend, we’ll need a more stable environment. The land is already changing. From the looks of the cavemen, I’m going to guess the land itself is already being affected. If I remember correctly, most tribes only moved for new feeding grounds. If they were conquered, the new tribe would take the more productive grounds.”

“So we have to go to Mesopotamia or around the Mediterranean?” asked Hotaru.

“Those would be our best hopes,” said Setsuna. “The main problem we would have to worry about is ensuring we don’t build at too low an altitude. I’m not really certain right now how flood-prone the area will be.”

“We better get closer to the food,” said Rei. “Otherwise, Dumpling Head will eat that cat all by herself.”

“And probably stop her from teaching them to sing songs from the Lion King,” said Makoto, watching as Usagi tried to teach them to say “In the Jungle, the mighty Jungle, the lion sleeps tonight!”
