Pokemon Orre: Helpful Gym Leader [Episode 164799]

by Disruptor

As Ash pointed his Pokedex at the four Pokemon, it pinged a few times.

"No data on file."

Ash stared in shock at his Pokedex. "What?"

Ash shook his head and muttered, "I better let Professor Oak know about this."

Ash watched as Wes easily crushed Trudly's Pokemon.

Trudly and Folly looked at each other and then took a closer look at Wes.

"Hey aren't you...?" Folly began.

"Yes," Wes replied curtly.

"Hey, who are you people?" a man followed by a strange gray flying Pokemon yelled.

"Burglars," a woman in a pink dress yelled.

"We are not burglars, we are kidnappers! Kidnappers!" Trudly yelled.

"Way to go. Just announce that to the world why don't you? Let's get out of here!"

Trudly and Folly ran off, leaving the hover-jeep behind. Wes shook his head in disgust and started walking into town. The man with the strange gray Pokemon yelled for his attention.

"I can't get this bag untied," he called from where he was kneeling next to the bag.

"Castform," came from the gray Pokemon.

Wes took a look at the rope tying bag and pulled out a knife and sliced the rope apart. The bag opened up from the inside a girl was revealed to be inside it. The girl was wearing a white miniskirt, a purple tank top, and a very sheer jacket. She also had orange hair with two short ponytails sticking out from the top of each side of her head.

"Um. Where am I?" the girl asked.

"You are in the Opulent City of Water, Phenac City,' the woman in the pink dress said. "This young man saved you from those kidnappers."

The man with the Castform nodded. "It was an intense battle."

"He attacked me. I would have ignored him, if he hadn't," Wes stated.

"My name is Rui and I need protection from being kidnapped again. I left my Pokemon at home," the girl said.

"Why were they kidnapping you in the first place?" Wes asked.

"It's because I could see dark clouds around a Pokemon that was acting oddly," Rui replied.

Ash finally spoke up. "The Pokemon didn't act oddly at all. Although I have never heard of any of them or whatever that Castform thing is."

"Castform."

Rui nodded her acknowledgment and turned back to Wes. "Please, I beg you. I need protection."

"I am no angel or knight," Wes bluntly stated.

"You are strong enough to protect me and..."

Wes threw up his hands in exasperation. "Fine. Fine. I don't really have anything else to do at the moment. I just quit my job due to differences with the management."

Rui grabbed Wes in a hug and loudly declared. "Thank you. Oh, thank you!"

Ash could see the somewhat pained face of Wes, as he removed Rui's arms from around him.

"You'll leave soon enough," Wes muttered.

The lady in the pink dress pointed to a building said, "You should go see Mayor Es Cade and tell him of what happened."

"It's a place to start," Wes said.

Ash watched the two of them leave and then turned to the woman. "Could you help me. I came here to get some information on Mount Battle and maybe some help on trying to get my Charizard to obey me. Finally I need a scooter."

"The Pokemart has the scooter you need. Justy in the Prestige Precept Gym or Pre Gym in the center of town could help you with your Charizard. As to Mount Battle, here have a guide book of the Orre Region."

"Thank you. Orre has a Gym Challenge tournament?" Ash said, as he took the pamphlet.

"No. The Pre Gym is the only Pokemon Gym in the region. We just have Coliseum Battles that are open to anyone," the woman said with a smile.

Ash shook his head. "I'm going to have to get my Pokedex upgraded as well."

"The Pre Gym can handle that as well."

"I better get head to the Pokecenter first and make a call."

Ash left and headed for the Pokecenter. Entering the center, he got a shock, for the person who was standing behind the counter was not a Nurse Joy. She was wearing a red dress and had black hair.

"Er. This is a Pokecenter right?" Ash asked.

"You must be new to Orre. The Joy and Jenny families are not present here. My name is June. My sister Jan works at Mount Battle and my other sister, Joan works at Agate Village. Our cousin Jeri works at Gateon Port. Our cousin looks like us and we can pass ourselves off as Quadruplets," the woman said.

"Okay. Well, here's my Pokemon. I need to make a call," Ash said.

"I'll get them healed up right away," June said.

Ash headed over to the videophone and called Oak Laboratories.

"Hello?" Professor Oak said.

"Hi, Professor Oak. It's me, Ash."

"Ash? Where are you? Oak asked.

"I needed to train and I found a place called Mount Battle in an old pamphlet lying around the house."

"You're in Orre. Whew. Definitely, not one of your brighter ideas."

"I need to get my Pokedex upgraded. I saw these Pokemon: Umbreon, Espoeon, Lotad, Whismur, and Castform. I've never heard of these Pokemon."

"Hmmm. Interesting. New Pokemon for you to see. I'm not sure about upgrading your Pokedex. I have information on a few," Oak said. "It's too bad that Orre has no wild Pokemon."

June walked over and heard the discussion and gave an amused snort.

"The Pre gym has information on over five hundred Pokemon currently, and maybe all the way up to one thousand," June said in amused voice.

"Sorry Ash, I can't help you at the moment. After your Pokedex gets upgraded, I'll want to have a look at it," Professor Oak said.

"Sure, Professor. Thanks anyway," Ash said and hung up the phone.

"The Pre Gym is in the center of town. You can't miss it. It is the second largest building in Phenac. The Coliseum at the edge of town is bigger," June stated anticipating Ash's question.

Ash nodded and headed to the center of town. He spotted Wes and Rui entering a building just East and up one level from the Pre Gym. He easily spotted the stadium on the south end of town. Ash shook his head and entered the gym. When he entered, he spotted a man wearing a white coat with hair that looked to be a mixture of brown and purple sitting behind a semi circular console overlooking a gym floor. On the other side there was a small classroom that was also overlooking the gym floor. A brown haired girl in a short blue mini-dress nodded at Ash.

"Hello, my name is Justy," the man behind the console said. "Are you here for a battle?"

"Two things. I need to get my Pokedex upgraded and I need help getting my Charizard to obey me."

"Miss Jones, will you handle the Pokedex for him, while I find out about his Charizard," Justy called across the room.

The teacher on the other side of the room nodded and left the small classroom and headed to Ash. Justy also left his place behind the console and came down.

"Hand your Pokedex to Miss Jones, she'll take care of that for you," Justy said.

"Tell me about your Charizard and why won't it obey you. Start from the beginning and when you met it. As matter of fact, bring it out right now. IF it acts up, I'll deal with it," Justy said.

Ash took a hesitant look at Justy and released Charizard. The Pokemon was about to attack, when Justy tossed a Pokeball in front of it and a strange white and pink creature appeared."

"Calm down, or I'll have my Corsola put you down," Justy declared. "It is rock and water combined. Even Blast Burn the Fire type Hyper Beam won't bother it that much. Now Ash, tell me about how you met this Pokemon."

Ash nodded and went into details of meeting the abandoned Charmander and later being hypnotized to help catch a bunch of Eggescutors and the battle with Areodactyl and the problems he had with Charizard ever since the first evolution.

Justy pursed his lips and nodded. "It is what Damien did that causes your Charizard to act that way. Tell me about your Pokemon and their histories and maybe I can figure something out."

Ash went into great detail about the trials he had dealing with each of them, save Pidgeotto. Justy shook his head at the tale.

"You really have troubles with Pokemon respecting you, don't you? I'm going to make a call and see if we can get your Primeape back to you. As to that Haunter, that was to heal Sabrina and really wasn't yours. Having a problem with one Pokemon happens occasionally, but six? Pikachu, Metapod, Charizard, Primeape, Squirtle, Bulbasaur. I think you might have a scent on you that makes Pokemon distrustful of you. You also have problems remembering things. I think I know what it is."

Justy stepped back and looked at Corsola and gave a nod. The Pokemon fired a long cold blast of water at Ash, until he was thoroughly drenched.

"What was that for?" Ash demanded.

"What do you do now?" Justy asked. "How do you prepare yourself after something like that happens? Do you use hair gel?"

Confused by the question, Ash pulled out a tube and Justy quickly grabbed it. He opened the cap and gave a sniff and shook his head.

"It is this hair gel of yours. It repulses Pokemon," Justy said. "The distrust is no wrong doing on your part. It's just you need to change to a different brand or go without."

Justy headed over to a cabinet and pulled out a tube and tossed to Ash. "There you go. That should solve some of your problems. Am I right Charizard?"

Charizard gave whiff of Ash and then whiffed at the tube of Ash's hair gel. Charizard narrowed his eyes and launched gout of flame towards the hair gel.

"See? Pokemon do not like that smell," Justy said with a smile.

"I was told that Charizard wouldn't obey me, because I wasn't a strong enough trainer."

Justy rolled his eyes upward and sighed. "That person was wrong. A Primeape is harder to control than a Charizard, since a Primeape's natural mode is to be berserk."

"Thank you. I'm heading to Mount Battle to train," Ash said.

"Let me get your Primape first," Justy stated.

Justy made a couple of phone calls and soon enough a Pokeball appeared underneath his wall phone. Justy picked it up and handed it to Ash.

"Here's your Primeape back. I think the next coliseum battle is starting soon. My, you have been here a long time. You can chose to receive a hover-scooter as your prize. The officials will be grateful to have one of those removed from storage and keep some money," Justy said.

Miss Jones handed Ash his Pokedex back. "I finished this while you were talking about Damien. I figured that you'd want to hear Justy out first."

Ash flipped it open and pulled up Espeon. His eyes widened it when it was revealed to be an Eevee evolution. He saw Umbreon was another choice and some other choices he never heard of.

"Thanks for the help Justy," Ash said, as he headed out the door on his way to the coliseum
