"Whoa, that was close," said Ukyo. "Anyone got a flashlight?"
"I happen to have such a device," said Kodachi, turning on a handlight.
"You were expecting the lights to go out?" asked Akane, a little suspicious.
"I have to be able to find my way in, and since my family employs various security measures." Kodachi left the rest unsaid.
"You have to be able to find the traps in the dark you mean," translated Akane. On the other hand - that made perfect sense. Well, it was Kodachi so maybe not perfect sense.
Ukyo looked at the results of the light flashing around the walls. "Kasumi? You didn't suddenly decide to drop all of your chores, did you?"
Kasumi's frown could be heard in her voice. "Of course not, why do you ask?"
"Only because your house now looks like nobody's been living in it for years," answered Ukyo. "See those spider webs?"
"Oh dear," said Kasumi.
"So it was one of those games," exclaimed Akane. "I KNEW IT!"
"-knew it, knew it, knew it, knew it-" echoed through the room.
"You mean like Great Grandmama's ghost stories about inns and villages that appear and vanish," said Shampoo, eyes practically alight. "Aiyah. This fun!"
"How does this qualify as fun?!" said Akane, considerably quieter.
"You finish moving," said Shampoo, "you roll six, yes?"
Kodachi focussed the light on the board in front of them. "She has indeed."
"Oh dear," repeated Kasumi, pulling various cleaning supplies out of nowhere and attacking the dust and grime.
"Shampoo think she not getting in mood," said Shampoo. "Akane move piece yes?"
Nabiki opened one door and then another, letting a dim grayish light into the otherwise dark area. "Okay, that's about as good as we can get."
"Six," said Akane, moving the piece. "Let's see. It says here -"
