As the two mages walked down the streets of Mipross, Lina felt the tug inside her being. She looked the direction that her Sailor Magic sense was pointing and saw what looked like a demonic toad. She quickly turned her head before the toad looked in her direction.
'So that's the Mazoku I'm feeling,' Lina thought to herself and let her new sense stretch out. 'A mild level compulsion ability to...'
Lina smiled nastily, as she felt her coin-purse being lifted off her belt. She quickly pulled the string back and caused the pickpocket to land flat on his back. She gave a disgusted snort as she rolled the cord back to reclaim her purse. The pickpocket had a weasel like face and big ears.
The thief looked at Lina and yelled, "What do you think you are doing?"
"Hey, you're the one who stole from me!" Lina yelled back and kneeled down in front of the thief.
'I sense more Mazoku compulsions,' Lina thought and looked up.
Lina saw four large, heavily muscular men looking down at her. She jumped back and looked at them.
"Are you harassing our friend?" a man carrying a claymore asked.
"I was yelling at him for stealing from me," Lina replied calmly.
"If it was in his hands, it belonged to him," the man said.
"Let's go settle this elsewhere," Lina said, and examined each of the men.
She spotted an octopus design on each of their weapons and in one case as a tattoo. The pickpocket led the two mages to a wharf and the five men grinned mavolently at Lina and Naga.
"You do realize that that octopus design is in really poor taste. Maybe if you replaced it with a fish-man you'd be more feared," Lina said in jovial voice and giving a wink.
Naga looked at Lina and then the ruffians and spotted what Lina was talking about.
The five men were angered by Lina's comment and started telling Lina that each was one of the top fifteen of the strongest men on Mipross Island. Before the pickpocket could say anything, Lina used one of her imploding fireballs to knock the idiots out.
"That was so nice of them to stay in a group like that," Lina commented to Naga.
Naga nodded. "I wonder what is with that octopus."
Lina closed her eyes and sensed the Mazoku frog was nearby was using some sort of domination power on someone close by. Opening her eyes, she spotted the frog and a small man wearing a robe. Lina prodded Naga with her elbow.
"Do you want to handle this one?" Lina asked.
"I can't let you have all the fun," Naga replied.
Lina ignored the two and looked around. She spotted a small warehouse that looked abandoned.
"Have fun, Naga. I'll see you at the resort," Lina called, and walked off.
"Still working on that magic?" Naga asked, and shook her head. "All right Sorcerer A, let's see what you've got."
"Jellyfish Summon!"
"Sea Cucumber Spirit!"
Lina flinched, as she heard the two spells go off. "Just keep walking and don't turn around. Just in case, take cover in a building."
Lina ducked inside the warehouse she had spotted and noticed that everyone was paying attention to Naga and Sorcerer A's fight with mostly harmless sea creatures, including the Mazoku.
"Magic Crystal Power! Make Up!" Lina called, as the wand appeared in her hand.
After transforming into Sailor Magic, Lina jumped up through a hole in the roof of the warehouse and looked down. She noticed the frog was looking around rapidly. Lina smiled and started chanelling the love, hope, and happiness to cover the area.
'Right. I must be like scraping fingernails across a blackboard to a Mazoku right now, since I gather and radiate positive emotions. I'll stay hidden and see how it reacts,' Lina thought with amusement.
The frog kept darting its head around and looking more and more irritated. It hopped into the middle of the Town Square and transformed into a two-meter tall green humanoid with a horse's mane rubbing down its back. Lesser Demons appeared around it in a wave of purplish light.
"I am Joyrock the true ruler of this island! Show yourself!" The Mazoku shouted.
'Joyrock is it?' Lina thought. 'Oh look, everyone is now pointing in fear at the Mazoku and the Lesser Demons. I had better get down there and it looks like Naga has finished her fight with A. Don't call her Naga. Laughing girl sounds right. Time for Lina to leave and Sailor Magic to arrive.'
Taking a deep breath, Sailor Magic jumped off of the warehouse and did a falling kick into Joyrock's face. The Mazoku was knocked on his ass and sent skidding back several meters. The magical girl used the impact against Joyrock to do a somersault leap and land on her feet facing Joyrock and the Lesser Demons.
Sailor Magic made various motions with her arms, as she gave speech. "I am the beautiful sailor suited soldier: Sailor Magic! For love and justice, I will punish you!"
Sailor Magic stood with her right fist in front of her chin, and her left fist in front of her right elbow. A pink aura momentarily surrounded Sailor Magic.
Joyrock slowly stood up and glared at Sailor Magic. "You're the cause of my discomfort. Get her!"
The Lesser Demons charged at Sailor Magic, who spread her arms wide. A glowing pink six-pointed star appeared on the ground around the Magical Girl. The Lesser Demons were consumed by pink light and Joyrock screamed in agony.
'It seems like all White and Spirit Magic are instinctive to this form. Elemkian Flaming Flow Break?' Sailor Magic thought.
"It seems like your bullies are gone and you have to fight fair for once," Sailor Magic said. "I will free these people from your grasp."
"I don't know who or what you are, but Humans are nothing more than toys to my kind. Even you are just a toy that is to be used and discarded," Joyrock hissed.
"You think you can play with Humans. Well, play with this," Sailor Magic said, and fired a glowing ball of pink light at Joyrock.
The light ball hit the Mazoku and engulfed him. Joyrock's screams were heard throughout the city.
'White Magic spell Resurrection did work like the book said. He's hurting quite badly from that stunt,' Sailor Magic thought and blinked. 'I'm getting energy from somewhere. Oh. The new hope everyone has is feeding my powers. I can't let them down.'
Sailor Magic's eyes narrowed and her body glowed pink for a second. As soon as the light faded from Joyrock, his right claw glowed purple.
"Oh no you don't," Sailor Magic said, and spread her arms wide once more.
The six-pointed pink star once again appeared and the purple glow around Joyrock's claw faded. Joyrock hissed in pain and fired a tendril of white light at Sailor Magic. Sailor Magic rolled underneath the attack and pulled the Blast Blade out from subspace.
"Magic Slash!" Sailor Magic called, as she converted the hope that the Mipross residents were giving off into mystical energy to up the power of the Blast Blade.
The lavender blade sliced through Joyrock's body. Joyrock screamed, as he dissipated into black smoke. Sailor Magic banished her sword and looked at the people watching her.
"You are free of Joyrock and can live in peace now," Sailor Magic said. "It is time for me to leave."
With that, Sailor Magic jumped over a large building that would take a person a couple minutes to walk around. Dropping out of site of everyone, Sailor Magic looked around and transformed back into Lina.
"Off to the resort and get some rest," Lina muttered.
Lina found her room and crawled into bed. The next thing she knew, she was being shaken. Opening her eyes, she saw Naga standing over her.
"I was asleep Naga," Lina said, and turned her back to Naga.
"While you were sleeping, some loony girl has shown up and is making a name for herself," Naga said.
"What are you talking about?" Lina asked, tiredly.
"She calls herself Sailor Magic and she was quite powerful," Naga explained.
"Later Naga, I want my sleep," Lina said.
"Don't you care about this?"
"I've seen her before, Naga," Lina muttered.
"Oh. Wait a second, so have I. I didn't know she was that powerful," Naga said. "By the way, what are you working on?"
"I'm trying to find a way to cast Blast Bomb unassisted. Now let me go to sleep," Lina said.
"All right."
Before Lina fell back asleep, her mind provided the image of the crystal altar that she stood on to hear the origin of Sailor Magic.
'It must update my fighting skills somehow. It also seems to store knowledge for me,' Lina thought. 'I'm going to have to find a better place to store that thing.'
