During the initial rush of princesses and noble born women Ranma had tried to help them. Only to discover he couldn't effect the physical world. Advice and directions to the limited few who could see him also proved futile. Akane somehow knew everything he did in regards to freeing himself.
After this Ranma began training religiously especially in ki/chi, meditative and spiritual techniques. Contrary to appearances he did know a fair bit of such having been taught by various priests and monks during his journey with Genma. His father had frowned on this 'contemplative garbage' and pushed his physical training all the more. In Nerima he'd had to stay on guard for numerous attacks and threats from his fiances, their admirers and others.
Contact with creatures of the astral plane gave him awareness of a great many things of psychic and mystic origin and some had furnished him with even more techniques and education.
It was no wonder then that Ranma sensed the intrusion of the Nirvana's away team and the powerfull spirit connected to three of these women, the Pexis. Two of them, Jura and Dita, had already been transformed. As had some ridiculous blonde man (Bart).
'Maybe with my new skills and the help of that spirit connected to the silver haired woman we can finally end this madness!' was Ranma's optomistic thought.
Thusly Ranma willed himself to the slender stoic beauty's side and assumed position for the 'Shen Su Yin', the meditative technique for communicating with spirits.
In a minute he was completely immersed in the Shen Su Yin and a pulsing spheric void of crawling lights and blue-white power. Ranma had contacted the Pexis.
