"NEIGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" yelled Ranma, beginning to run.
Normally a Ponyta was very weak at first. On the other hand, this was Ranma.
Ranma ran out of the springs, incidently running OVER a panda. He ran through the brush and along the cliff.
"WHAT?! HEY!" yelped some boy as a horse that was on fire interrupted his fight with some silly looking turtle and a pig-creature.
Ranma ran past the boy, ran across the woods, and found a trail. He was panicked for the moment, leaping from cliff to cliff, but the panic gave way to something else as the realization that he wasn't being burned penetrated.
He was FAST and this was actually fun. Exhilarating. Racing along like this was really wild.
Panicked flee became a proud gallop. He raced into some kind of village.
Shampoo watched another creature, some silly looking bat, fly by. "(This is very very weird, great grandmother. They all look very silly too.)"
"(Oh?)" asked Cologne. "(What of THAT one?)"
"(I...)" Shampoo began, turning to look. TOING!
There, galloping along, was a magnificent creature. Pure white its body, gleaming with a coat of sweat. Bright eyes glimmering with intelligence and enjoyment of the simple act of running. Fire formed mane and tail, as well as forming along the crest of all four limbs.
When the silly looking things attacked it, it seemed barely to notice. It moved with speed and agility, kicking or stomping each attacker in turn and flattening them to the ground with almost contemptuous ease.
Only one, a weird thing which threw water at it, seemed to harm it, but this warrior-beast jumped up and down on the water-spitter and then kicked it away. Shaking itself, it stood there for a moment as if feeling something strange. Then it CHANGED.
It more than doubled in size, a horn forming at its forehead, and it became more muscular.
Cologne glanced aside at her great-granddaughter and figured that if this had been one of Myao's comic books, her eyes would have turned to big pink hearts at this point.
"(SO CUTE!!!)" exclaimed Shampoo. ZOOM!
ZOOM! went the horse-creature, avoiding the girl and beginning to run again.
Shampoo shied away as she felt the heat coming off of the creature. Her eyes tracked it though.
"(That was a Rapidash,)" said Myao, coming up and showing the Elder one of her magazines.
"(What is this child? Oh my.)" Cologne immediately noted the resemblance between the various creatures and the drawings.
"(Eh?)" asked Shampoo. "(What does this say?)"
"(Oh, that's just the slogan from the game,)" said Myao. "(Gotta catch them all.)"
"(There just one that Shampoo wants to catch,)" pointed out Cologne.
"(I couldn't even get close with that fire,)" said Shampoo.
"(Yeah, that's a fire type,)" said Myao. "(They can control their flame though, and if they really like and trust you - the flame won't burn and they'll let you ride them.)"
Shampoo clenched one fist and stood, the fires of determination showing. "(Then that is what I'll do!)"
"(You and half the Amazons out there,)" said Cologne, pointing out the small crowd of Amazons holding equestrian gear and trying to chase the fire horse.
"(I'll get that... what did you call him?)" asked Shampoo who normally didn't pay attention to the little otaku Amazon.
"(Rapidash,)" said Myao, who was still a bit in shock that all these creatures from a game were now running around like this.
"(I'll catch my little Rapidash yet,)" vowed Shampoo. "(I have a feeling the trust bit will be a bit harder.)"
Ranma didn't know it but he was going over 100mph at present.
