This was pretty fast, Ranma decided. He could probably get back to Japan in hardly any time at all.
Hmmm. Lots of gnats. Oh, wait a minute. Those weren't gnats at all, were they?
Ranma tried to warn them off, really he did. He waved his arms and tried sign language. They responded with missiles. Ranma blinked as he realized that hadn't hurt as much as he'd have thought it was.
Finally Ranma decided he was just going to have to charge forward and make for the ocean, trying to avoid cities as he went.
There were many terms you could use in conjunction with a full-size and true to life Gojira. Big. Powerful. Force Of Nature. Titan.
There were some terms that just plain were not applicable. Unobtrusive. Sneaky. Unnoticeable. Small like Mickey Rooney. (Err, no wait a minute.)
When a mountain decides to move from the Bayankala Mountain Range in Qinghai Province and head towards the ocean, it took absolutely no time for people to notice.
What took time was for them to credit what they were seeing and to convince other people to take them seriously.
Finally someone decided that since the authorities weren't listening to them about THAT, then they would simply report a suspicious foreign object - possibly a spy dirigible.
That brought the Chinese Air Force out. The Chinese Air Force had cameras and took pictures.
The authorities had no idea what was going on, but they were sure of one thing - it wouldn't do to question the chain-of-command as people who did that tended to disappear and it was not permitted to talk of those who disappeared.
So they harassed the creature with missiles, noted the care the big beastie had in tiptoeing over cars and farmhouses and the like, and mainly were showing that no foreign spies would be allowed in their country.
The monster went into the ocean eventually, and everyone congratulated themselves on a job well done.
