That he'd spend some time ALONE was just a benefit. He hadn't had a whole lot of time to himself lately, and he still wanted to sort out some feelings he'd had.
Akane had gone off. Ranma had gone after her. Makoto, Rei, Usagi, and Hotaru had gone after Akane with the intent of joining up openly with her.
Haruka and Michiru were sneaking off after Akane with the intent of getting her alone and renewing the plan the fathers had sold them on.
Ami was staying behind. Minako was dithering.
Batsuna was still chasing Setsuna. Because sometimes the chase was more fun than the catch. Besides, she didn't want to do something to an unwilling overly stiff other self. Just get her to relax, enjoy herself, and have all sorts of wildly kinky fun. If she could get the other to surrender, a good time would be had by all. Right?
Shampoo was packing a few things and pursuing, thinking that she'd just keep Akane and Ranma from doing anything unfortunate when they were off in the woods by themselves.
Cologne heard, rolled her eyes, and then thought about it more seriously. Akane Tendo was trying to train herself? Hmmmm. Well, why not. Maybe she could learn the Bakusai Tenketsu, it was a good technique to learn to toughen up.
Mousse heard that Shampoo was going, and therefore he wanted to go too.
Kodachi heard, from Nabiki of course, that Ranma and Akane were going off to spend many evenings training together in the woods. With their petgirls. Kodachi packed her bags and started looking for where they were going - even if she didn't get time to spend with her Ranma-sama she could spend time with those delightful petgirls.
Tatewaki noticed the bags his sister had packed, inquired about it, then practically started foaming at the mouth as he pictured all the perverse things that could happen. The Heavens themselves could not accept this situation!
By the time the rumor mill had gotten the news to Ukyo, she was hip deep in evening rush, and the story had mutated into Haruka and Michiru kidnapping Akane in order to train her in MARITAL arts so that she could seduce Ranma. Ukyo listened to this story and tried to picture Akane seducing anyone. When she finished laughing, she went back to her job. She'd call to check, just in case, later.
Akane stalked off, slowing as she realized she hadn't packed much.
"Here," said someone.
Akane let out a breath. "Why are you here?"
Makoto shrugged and adjusted her backpack. "You're going to go training, right? Might as well help you there."
Akane directed a flat look in return.
"We're just concerned about you," said Makoto.
Akane directed her flat look towards Rei and Usagi, but those two were apparently too out of breath to respond much.
Hotaru, being a dragon-girl, was circling overhead - apparently riding an updraft. Akane figured that she had been the one to find her and signal her position to the others.
Akane was well aware that the petgirls had abilities. Hotaru had incredible strength, was tough, and was able to fly. Setsuna, or Batsuna as she sometimes called herself, could teleport and fly, she also had that echolocative ability and her toes were long enough that she could hang upside down from them.
Makoto wasn't breathing hard, though that could have been just naturally being athletic, possibly it was because she was a:
