Harry Grimorie was about to open his mouth when his mother held up a finger. She quickly grabbed her tape recorder and a notebook.
"Harry? This will probably make a great series of stories for the National Inquisitor. So start talking," Janet Grimorie said.
"If anyone believes the Inquisitor," David said with a slightly amused snort.
"So, my paper is a tabloid? What of it?" Janet replied with a smirk.
"Nothing."
Harry shook his head and saw a flash of jealousy in the eyes of the boy with the lightning bolt scar. Harry took a deep breath and explained how he had found a cat outside the house, during a storm and waking up the next morning to see a Cat Woman. The story went on with the mad flight from the house to evade a transporter beam being used by Demitri Maximov the Lord of the Vampires at the urging of Pyron. Donovan and Hsien Ko's faces tightened in anger when they found out that Dimetri was trying to unite all the Darkstalkers into an army to take over.
"Lord Pyron?" Hsien Ko asked. "I have not heard of this Darkstalker before."
"From the few times I was on his ship, I found out he's an alien from the planet Hellstorm," Harry Grimoire said. "I'll get to why I was on his ship later. He's the one who's really pulling the strings behind the idea of uniting the Darkstalkers for an army of evil."
Harry went on to explain the meeting with Donovan, while holding up the ring. Harry's parents gave disapproving glares to Harry and Felicia for that entire nonsense.
"You disappoint me Harry," David said.
"I had a Vampire Lord trying to beam me up to an alien spaceship to meet his master that first night. I really did not want to become a vampire or a snack for a vampire," Harry replied. "Trust me, if I knew then there was another way, I'd have left the ring alone. I only put the ring on when Felicia was captured by Morrigan to use as a sacrifice."
Harry sighed and explained the truth behind the ring and the lesson taught by the spirit of Merlin. The subsequent confrontation between Harry and Donovan over whether Felicia should live or die was of great interest into all those who heard it. When the part about Anakaris's pyramid flying over Egypt was brought up, the injured boy chuckled. Harry's parents listened as their son mentioned meeting the Yeti and other Darkstalkers. Donovan paled when he heard that his action by attacking Rikou brought Pyron down to be attacked by the robot Huitzil and what could have happed if Harry hadn't deactivated the self-destruct mechanism. The joke that Harry played on Pyron by altering the ship's computer programming to act like a woman caused all those listening to start laughing.
"I don't know if I should have helped out like that, but...," Harry said.
"You had no choice. That device had to be stopped to protect humanity," Hsien Ko said, after she stopped laughing at Harry's joke on Pyron. "You made up for it by that joke on Pyron."
Harry went on to explain that Felicia sent Rikou to investigate the death of Henry Farr. With apologies to harry, Hsien Ko explained that situation. Donovan took over and explained Amanda and why she was with him. The tale of Bishamon and his quest to end the curse of Ginai was next up. Harry took over and went on with his being mentally dominated by Morrigan and rescue by John Talbain. Harry told his parents he gave the sword to Bishamon to help him fight Demitri when the Vampire Lord got hold of the Crystal Skull. Harry then told of his helping Pyron to get rid of Terramon and his ship.
"Better the devil you know," Harry said with a shake of his head. "I'm a wizard and I tend to use my mind and technical knowledge to fight against evil more than I use my magic to do so."
David Grimorie looked at Donovan. "I have to offer you a warning, Mr. Bane. It is a quote. 'If you become obsessed with the enemy, you become the enemy.' I think Amanda is slowly forcing you to realize that."
Harry piped up. "I still think he likes you, Felicia."
"I told you the last time you said that, don't get cute," Felicia said with a smile.
"Other than that bit with the Ring of the Black Dragon, which I can understand, you've been a great babysitter. I really should pay you," Janet said.
"Nah. We've helped each other out. The only thing I'm really interested in is getting a part in a Broadway musical or starting my own," Felicia replied. "You know there was some good in Pyron showing up. The entire business with Anakaris' pyramid has prompted Bigfoot to allow the Yeti and Sasquatch to be more readily seen. It's forcing people to accept magic. Maybe someday the Darkstalkers who are not evil can once again walk alongside humanity in peace."
The boy with the lightning bolt scar sat up and looked at the group with a mixture of envy, awe, sadness, and humor.
"My name is Harry Potter and until my eleventh birthday, I was forced to sleep in a cupboard at my aunt and uncle's house."
Harry Potter related the story of his life and then finding out about the wizardring world. He moved through his first four years at Hogwart's School of Wizardry and the events surrounding them. He brought up Voldemort and how his name used to be Tom Marovolo Riddle and the anagram 'I am Lord Voldemort'. He told that almost everyone with a very few exceptions in the wizard world was still afraid to say his name and referred to him as 'You-know-who'. That little declaration brought snorts of derision from the two hunters, Felicia, and Harry Grimorie. The events and history of the Death Eaters and Lord Voldemort was very interesting to the two hunters. His subsequent revival during the Tri-Wizard tournament caught the interest of Hsien Ko and Donovan Bane. He ended the story with how he got beaten to a bloody pulp by three of his cousin's gang members.
"It seems like the Dursleys are far more evil than Felicia could ever be," Harry Grimorie said. "Voldemort? He sounds like a lich. Although why he still exists after destroying his phylactery is a mystery."
"Phelacrty? What is that? What is a lich?" Harry Potter asked.
"A lich is an evil wizard so obsessed with prolonging his life, he rips out his soul and places it in an object. His awareness stays in his body. If you destroy the object his soul is in, he dies. Phylactery is the name used for an object holding a lich's soul," Harry Grimorie said. "To create a phylactery, you have to torture someone to death."
"How do you know that?" Harry Potter said.
"What? I played Dungeons and Dragons and some other games. A lot of other fantasy RPG's have how a lich is created described in the books," Harry Grimorie said with a smile. His smile faded, as he continued. "There is a spell Merlin developed to send a pulse through the body and soul link to a phylactery and will cause the phylactery to dissolve. That's what he used on Morgan le Fay's spirit and caused the Blood Ring to dissolve into mist. As to why I say you destroyed Voldemort's phylactery, that diary you destroyed."
"I have a question? Why did you get left with your aunt and uncle? That Sirius Black fellow should have raised you. Maybe then...," Janet asked.
"Maybe then? I've been asking myself that all the time. It's some sort of blood protection spell. Because my mom died saving me, the spell can only work with a relative of my mom. Aunt Petunia is my mom's sister and family."
"Some protection," David said. "More than a decade of being a slave and punching bag. I thought England had laws against that sort of thing?"
"They do," Donovan stated forcefully.
"It probably doesn't matter. When I get back to England, I'll be expelled for using magic outside of school," Harry Potter said.
"For saving your life from being beaten?" Hsien Ko asked. "That doesn't make sense."
"Politicians," David spat. "Potter here is held up to a double standard. When they break the law to force him to do something, it is for his own good. If he makes even the slightest error, he gets punished to the maximum extent that the law will allow. By the way, sorry. When I think of the name Harry, I think of my son."
"I do not mind, Mr. Grimorie. Most of my teachers call me Potter as well," Harry Potter said and gave a slight chuckle. "That flying pyramid is still causing a ruckus in the Wizardring World. They are trying to figure out who blew the secret that magic exists in such a big way and trying to figure out a way to cover it up."
David leaned forward and took a sip of his drink. "I can understand why the wizards wanted to be left alone and I would agree with them up to a point. Pyron changes everything. The only thing that can get up there is what you would call a Muggle device, but magic is the only way to see that ship."
"I have a favor to ask. Could you please print the truth of what happened of Voldemort's revival?" Harry Potter sadly said. "I can't get anyone to believe me, thanks to that Skeeter woman. Since I'm going to be expelled anyway and probably thrown into prison, I have nothing left to lose."
Janet chuckled. "Don't worry about that. I intend to report the entire thing truthfully. I have no need of embellishments or making up a theory or story for both these situations. This wilder than anything I could come up with."
"I just violated another rule. I revealed magic to Muggles," Harry Potter muttered to himself.
"No, you didn't. You revealed it to two wizards, a ghost, a Darkstalker, a tabloid reporter, and..." Donovan said, and trailed off looking at David Grimorie
"Professional translator. I speak close to twenty different languages," David said. "Court cases involving tourists or translating for ambassadors is what I deal with. I see your point Mr. Bane. This is not a group of Muggles by any stretch of the imagination. Since Janet is going to do the revealing, Potter won't get into trouble. He's innocent due to a technicality."
"Mom? Dad? Wait a second," Harry G. said.
Harry G.'s hands started to glow and a silvery aura settled around all those in the room.
"That's better. That should keep that memory-removing spell from bothering any of us. If it is used, it'll be reflected right back at the person who cast it," Harry G. said.
"I need to get word to Dumbledore or someone, letting them know that I'm all right," Harry P. said. "I have no idea how."
"Write a letter. I'm going to check some of the spellbooks for that messenger spell," Harry G. said and went upstairs.
Janet handed Harry P. a pen and a piece of paper. She looked at the three people who were a part of her son's life and shook her head.
"I'd like to interview you three some time in the future. You really should get the story out there. Maybe the Inquisitor is tabloid, but quite a few times the stories are collected in printed book form."
"I guess we should have our stories told to those who will listen," Hsien Ko said.
"True, my daughter," a woman's voice said. "It took me a while to get through the wards that young Grimorie set up."
Everyone saw a translucent matronly looking woman wearing a Chinese robe.
"Mother of Mercy? What are you doing here?" Hsien Ko asked.
"My daughter, you have learned how to laugh again. Why wouldn't I be here? Donovan Bane, I have a question for you. Who is more deserving of life, Tom Riddle a human who tried to kill a one year old baby or Felicia a Darkstalker who helped a young human grow in maturity?"
"I...see... I need to reflect on what I'm doing," Donovan replied.
The Mother of Mercy went over to Harry Potter and bowed her head. "You have gained friends and allies today that can help you break the hold of terror that Riddle still has on the wizard society. The wizard called Horace Slughorn holds the information on defeating Riddle once and for all. The only other thing that I am allowed to tell you is that your parents love you and are disappointed that Albus Dumbledore did not follow their wishes. Be well."
The translucent woman faded out, as unshed tears formed in Harry P.'s eyes.
"So that was the Mother of Mercy?" Harry G. asked. "I should have sent a request to her as well to show up. Hopefully, there won't be a next time. Do you have the letter ready yet?"
"Give me a moment," Harry P. said, as he started writing down a brief summary of what happened to him at the Dursleys and winding up in the United States.
Harry G. shrugged and told him the Grimorie Home's address. After receiving nods from Janet and David, Harry P. wrote the address he was at down. Harry G. held out his hands a ball of white light with two wings appeared in his hand. There was a slot in the top of the ball that was large enough to hold a standard size envelope.
"Just put the letter in the ball and think of the person you want it to go to," Harry G. explained.
"I have never heard of this spell," Harry P. said.
"Probably not. Elijah Grimorie created it. I have all of his spellbooks to work with. There is even books on brewing potions or Alchemy that I can use," Harry G. replied with a twinkle in his eye.
Harry P. stuck the letter in the ball and was handed the sphere.
"Just think of the person you want it to go to, it'll do the rest," Harry G. said, as he stepped back
Harry Potter nodded and thought of the Weasleys, Sirius Black, Albus Dumbledore, and even Remus Lupin, but the sphere wouldn't move.
"They must be blocked somehow," Donovan theorized. "What about that McGone woman?"
"Professor McGonnagall? Well,..." Harry P. said, and his voice trailed off as the sphere started to glow and hover.
The glowing ball of light shot out of Harry P.'s hands and started flying around the room. It then flew into the fireplace and up the chimney. A loud sound like a vacuum pulling in a sheet of paper shook the house. Harry G. looked out the window and saw dead bird skeletons and bits of straw rain down.
"Well, that's one way to clean the chimney," Harry G. said.
"Well, I'm going to get the guest rooms ready," Janet said. "I think we all want to know what is going to happen with Harry Potter. Hsein Ko, you might be a ghost, but you do need to rest after that healing stunt. No arguments. As for you Donovan, Amanda is a little girl and needs some time in a soft bed."
"Maybe Janet and I will freak out next week," David softly commented. "I look at the five of you and see good people dealing with evil that has affected their lives. After all the time in court I was starting to wonder as times."
A streak of light sped across the Atlantic Ocean and made its way to England. The light made several sharp turns and was soon heading towards Hogwarts. The light sped in through one of the windows and caused the ghosts and Peeves to scatter, as it flew through the school. The sphere sped into the Deputy Headmaster's office and flew up towards the ceiling and then launched itself straight down. The burst of light caused by the messenger spell's dissipation upon hitting the desk insured that the letter that was inside it would not be ignored. The journey took less than thirty seconds. Professor Minerva McGonnagall lowered her arm from her eyes and saw the letter on her desk. She gingerly opened it up and started reading what was on it. She growled in long forgotten anger and frustration.
"I warned Albus that the Dursley home was the wrong place for him. I had better let everyone know that Harry's okay. I'm going to have to talk to the wizard that created that spell afterwards. My heart's still pounding."
She took a glance at the address written down on the paper and her eyes widened. "How did Harry wind up in the United States?"
Professor McGonnagall wrote off a quick letter to Albus Dumbledore that she had received word of Harry's location. She left out exactly where Harry was.
"At least Albus retrieved Harry's belongings from the Dursley's," McGonnagall muttered, as she gave the message to one of the school owls. "This is going to be a long flight."
Professor McGonnagall sighed, but there was no help for it. She needed to bring a second broom along for Harry to ride back to England with. She found a collapsible trunk and put the broom inside. She also went down to the infirmary and packed a large hospital robe for Harry to keep warm on the flight back.
"Going somewhere, Minerva?" a gruff voice sounded behind her.
Minerva turned around and sighed heavily. "Hello, Mad-Eye. What do you want?"
"This is the first contact anyone has been able to get from Harry. His own owl can't even find him," Alastor Moody explained. "I'm here to make sure he gets back safely and find out what is blocking messages so thoroughly. It's not the Fidelius Charm; it's something different."
"Considering how that letter from Harry got here, I believe it," Minerva said.
Moody raised an eyebrow. "Oh?"
"I'll tell you on the way. I hope you're up for a flight to the United States."
