"We should fly," said Shampoo. "Ranma change to Little Red Cheesecake and just carry us over. Much much faster and no have to worry about Chinese border patrol ships."
"We didn't have to worry about such things when we came here-" began Genma.
Ranma merely sighed. He knew it was going to be different when he met the Tendos. He just didn't see where it was going to be any better. Akane had been willing to be friends with a girl, not a guy and certainly not a fiancee. Kasumi had that thing about any guy having to be older than her. Nabiki was interested in guys, but was going to turn into a money-obsessed manipulative sort in very short time.
"-and the borders seem wide and open to me," continued Genma. "We haven't had any problems with the Chinese government since our arrival -"
He might be able to get Shampoo and Akane to be friends - that would be an improvement. Shampoo wasn't trying to kill him, she wasn't confused over "girl type Ranma" and "boy type Ranma", but it was her village that concerned Ranma.
No matter how he turned events over in his head, he just couldn't see how changing his past like it had had altered the Nichieju Village to something that had been conquered during the Chinese Civil War.
"-so I don't understand at all where you're getting these odd ideas," continued Genma. "Even in your village -"
"Uh oh," said Shampoo, leaping and rolling so that she ended up behind a dumpster.
Ranma heard the sound of a car a moment after that, and decided to hide over THERE.
"-all those nice men wanted to do was take care of an ailing guest of their country," huffed Genma. "So there's really no reason for you to... where'd everyone go?"
The jeep pulled up and two men got out.
"Ah," said Genma. Now he'd prove how friendly the Chinese government actually was, and that girl would have no recourse but to remain behind. "Hello! I don't suppose you speak Japanese?"
"(He matches the description,)" said one of the soldiers to the other.
"Were you travelling from Bayankala Mountain Range, Qinghai Province?" asked one soldier in Japanese.
"Yes, yes, I was. Wonderful country you've got here," said Genma.
"Have you seen these two before?" asked the same soldier, holding up a picture.
"Yes," answered Genma. "Very nice people. They were very concerned about my stomachache."
The one soldier nodded to the other, then took out his pistol. BLAM BLAM!
"We do not tolerate foreign spies in this country," said the soldier.
Genma stared, feeling the blood trickle past his fingers from the wound on his chest.
"(He's a tough one,)" said the other. "(Pity he's too big to take in for questioning. We'd need a much bigger car.)"
crackle-BOOM!
"(Was that thunder just now?)" asked the first soldier.
Knocking out the two soldiers could have been easily done by striking from ambush without transforming. Transforming first made it even easier, but it was patching up the damage on his father that was the reason for transforming.
The Wisdom of Solomon let him see that both wounds were not fatal and the bullets had passed through his father. Blood loss and shock were problems, as well as the possibility of sepsis. Going swimming was now completely out of the question.
"Shampoo, get in," said RanMarvel, stowing his father across the front two seats.
"Stupid Oyaji no can drive," protested Shampoo.
"Who said anything about driving?" asked Marvel.
A jeep flying over the waters was seen as possibly being a test of a new weapons platform, and as it was obviously secret - nobody reported it.
On the way, Ranma had a chance to think over his current problems using the Wisdom Of Solomon and decided:
