Friends And Family: Passing The Message [Episode 167862]

Lunch wasn't a time that Nabiki found to be all that big of a deal. Certainly it was a great time to talk to friends and relax, but she'd never been the sort of girl who looked forward to it from the start of the school day. Rather, she enjoyed it for what was, and found herself to be rather comfortable with what she got out of it. Not even making 'business deals' was a major thing for her, since it wasn't like teenagers had a lot of spare cash floating around.

So, she merely strolled along in the hallway, heading to pick up something to drink. Fortunately for her, Kasumi and their step-mother packed a really good bento, and she didn't need to jump into the craziness of buying bread. Even if she would need money to get something, being in a pile of yelling teenagers who pressed so close that they bumped against each other constantly wasn't exactly her idea of 'fun'.

Fortunately for her though, there was a bonus to what she was doing, as she saw a pair of familiar faces heading her way. "Well, well, if it isn't my little sister and my uncle by marriage...."

"Hi, Nabiki," Akane answered with a little wave. "Going to pick something up?"

"Only a drink. There's no way that I'd ever get into that sort of chaos. That seems to be other people's preferred direction."

"Him? He was actually pretty amazing, to tell the truth. I've never seen anyone get through a mess of people like that."

"It's embarrassing, is what it is. And didn't you get a lunch already?"

"Sure did. But I'm still hungry. 'Sides, I thought that ya might want one too."

"Oh...."

"Interesting idea. But there is something that we have to deal with," Nabiki put in.

"Ya wanted one."

"Don't mind if I do. 'Delivery price', you know."

The pigtailed boy frowned at the elder girl. "'Delivery price'? Deliverin' what?"

"This," the short haired girl told him, pulling out a letter with one hand and holding it.

"'To the wondrous daughter of the Saotome clan'. This is ta me?"

"He said to give it to the 'girl that shares you mother's inspiring appearance'. Something tells me that he doesn't know that you're the same person."

Ranma snorted, and took the letter so that he could unfold it. "On Sunday, in the tenth hour, meet me on the second field of Furinkan High School."

"It sounds like a challenge, but why would that be?" Akane mused, looking idly thoughtful. "I mean, the idiot seems to like you...."

"Who cares? All that I care 'bout is getting him ta stop bein' an idiot."

"Good luck on that."

"I've known Kuno for a long time. And I've never known him to stop being an idiot. He doesn't like to lose," Nabiki wryly put in.

"Great. Just great...." Ranma sighed, and crumbled the letter in one hand, while:
