Ranma sat back in his seat on the train and turned his gaze out the window at the city speeding by him. Rather then thoughts of the future and his waiting Goddess, his mind was drifting back to the past. “Ya know,” he said to Kasumi, who was sitting next to him, “this is a hell lot nicer than the last time me an Pop took a train.”
Sitting across from Ranma, Akane was the one who responded. “Why's that?”
“'Cause, last time Pop made me spar with him on top.”
Nabiki, who was sitting next to Akane, raised an eyebrow. “You two fought on top of a train?”
Ranma turned his attention from the view to the girls he was with. “Yeah. We saw this gaijin movie on a TV and the guys were fighting on top of the train. Pop thought it'd be great training, so we did it.”
“So, Saotome,” Nabiki asked, “they just let you go onto the roof to fight?”
Ranma shook his head. “Naw, we didn't even bother with tickets. To start the fight, we had to jump from this bridge over the tracks, land on the roof, and then attack each other.”
“Oh my,” Kasumi replied, “isn't that dangerous?”
“Eh, no worse then swimmin' back from China.”
Akane gazed at her friend skeptically. “You swan from China?”
“Yeah, it's great training! You should try it sometime Akane.”
When Akane's gaze grew dark at Ranma's remark, Nabiki stepped in before her little sister could erupt. “So, what did you do in China anyway? Come across an ancient martial arts like your father wanted?”
Ranma looked at Nabiki and blinked. “Eh, well...”

Skuld let out a long sigh as she rose from the bathtub, taking a large, fluffy white towel and wrapping it around herself. Cleaning Banpei had been a greasy affair, and she had needed the quiet soak to relax herself for a few minutes. She had become so caught up in trying to make everything perfect for Ranma that she hadn't taken the time to feel that quiet joy that her Husband was coming home.
As she wrapped her hair up in another towel to help it dry, Skuld took in her image in the mirror in the bathroom. She knew that both of her sisters still had a better figure then her, and in the past that would have made her jealous or caused her to lash out at Urd, who was always flaunting it. Now, though, she couldn't help but grin every time she saw herself, as she knew exactly what her figure did to Ranma. And besides, she enjoyed rubbing it in Urd's face!
Opening the bathroom door slightly, Skuld stuck her head out and looked left and right, making sure that Keiichi wasn't there. She had had enough embarrassing moments to last a life time. Seeing no male figure in the hall, Skuld dashed to her room, shutting the door quickly behind her. Taking in the now clean and organized room, Skuld walked over to the dress she had chosen. It was a mostly simple dress, white with a set of roses patterned on the sleeves that ended a few inches from her wrists. It left her shoulders bare with a modest V neck, and had a skirt that reached her mid-calf. She was sure Ranma would love it.
Pulling on the dress and unwrapping her hair, Skuld almost skipped out of her room in anticipation of Ranma's arrival.
