Well, Keiichi knew that he was being a bit overly sentimental when he considered that sort of idea, but then he wasn't exactly an unbiased individual. To him, there was no reason to not simply enjoy the simple pleasures that being with Belldandy gave him. Life might have been crazy from time to time, but at least he had the opportunity to experience such happiness.
So, he was smiling as he put down the bag of groceries that she'd had him pick up, and turned to face her. "There you go. I think that I've got all that you asked for...."
"Why thank you!" Belldandy told him brightly. "This will help a lot."
"Umm.... Belldandy?"
"Yes?"
"Why are you making that much food?"
The Norn glanced over at where all four burners were working, with a bunch of finished dishes on the counters. "Is something wrong with it?"
"It's a lot...."
"Do you think so? I was making some extra in case we get other guests, and...."
"Yes?"
"Ranma is coming to visit. He does like to eat...."
"Oh. Right. Didn't think of that," he murmured, hanging his head and wincing as he thought of the teenager's eating habits.
"You didn't?"
"Not really. But do you need me to do anything else?"
"If it wouldn't be too much trouble...." Belldandy trailed off, looking apologetic.
"It's no problem. What do you need?"
"Could you go ask Urd what she is planning on doing for the reunion?"
Something made him feel a chill run up his spine. "What she's 'planning'?"
"Yes. You see, she told me that she wants to do something to make Skuld's reunion with Ranma 'special'?"
"I see.... Well then, I'm going to go see her now."
"You will?"
"I think that I have to," he told her with a nervous smile and headed through the house towards the eldest Norn. All sorts of possible screw ups came into his mind, and past ones were replayed with troubling clarity. He didn't know if he should worry, but the opportunity to do so was right in front of him at that moment.
Then he found the shapely goddess of the past leaning against the wall next to Skuld's door, with something that didn't look like it was simply there for show.
"Well, let's see what we can do here with this...." Urd murmured to herself.
"What are you doing, Urd?" asked a male voice right at her shoulder... which made her jump and turn to face the speaker.
"Keiichi?!"
"What?"
"I.... Um.... What are you doing here?"
"I do live here," he reminded her. "But as for being right here now.... I was wondering what you were planning on doing."
"You were?"
"Of course. I mean, for all I know, that vial in your hand could be some sort of potion to get Skuld and Ranma to make out or something...."
It wasn't every day that a goddess could look guilty, and Urd tried not to do so at that moment. "Would I do something like that?"
"You already did, with me and Belldandy."
"Ummm....."
"And you did try to redecorate my bedroom when it got smashed that time...."
"It had style...."
"Yeah, of the kind that I didn't want. But that was then. This is me wondering if you'd thought of planning on doing something like that to Skuld and Ranma," he informed her flatly.
"Come on now. I have only been planning on doing what I can to be a help."
"You have?"
"Absolutely. I've only been considering a few little touches to maximize their enjoyment...."
"Really. Then that's good then."
"I thought so," the goddess replied, giving him a small smirk.
"That's great. I'd hate for the two of them getting back together to get messed up."
"Trust me. It'll be fine...."
"I hope so. See you later."
A wide smile stretched across Urd's face, and she watched him leave... before she deflated a bit. Small whimpers forced their way from her throat, and she hung her head, though it wasn't from any fear. Rather, she was frustrated, and she knew that if Keiichi was already looking out for something, it was already an obvious possibility.
That meant that her 'Love Love Energy Spray', and her 'Skuld Room Intimacy Redesign Plan' both were not going to be quite as usable as she'd hoped.
Sighting to herself, she slipped off, trying to come up with some other plan to spice up Ranma's return to Skuld, while:
