Neo-Were-Cheetah: Witness the Proof [Episode 168733]

by The Demented Redhead

“Would you stop pacing,” muttered Sheila. She and her brother were outside the entrance to Seer’s Hamlet, waiting for his old teacher.

“I can’t help it, sis,” said Gar. “Sensei is coming to see what we found. It was just luck that the message caught her after her stay at the Brod’s Observatory.”

“So what?” asked Sheila. “You just can’t let this go, can you?”

“But these can’t be were-cheetah, sis,” said Gar. “No weakness to silver, they didn’t even know how to change forms when they got here. It has to be some trick.”

“What’s a trick, Student?”

“Sensei!” screamed Gar.

“I snuck up too easily on you,” said Julia Diggers.

“Sorry, Sensei,” apologized Gar. “But what has occurred has unnerved me a bit.”

“Please calm down and explain it,” said Julia.

“Well,” said Gar, “two weeks ago, two were-cheetah appeared outside the entrance to the Hamlet.”

Julia blinked. “Excuse me?”

Sheila sighed, knowing her brother was too distracted and already dead set that their new guests were imposters to speak. “They showed up two weeks ago dragging along close to fifty captured bandits, as well as ten of the worst of the worst stuffed inside a Bag of Holding.”

Julia blinked. “And how did they capture that many bandits?”

“The part-time male said he did it with ‘martial arts’. He somehow protected the female, while defeating sixty bandits equipped with magic rings, spell and power boosters, while doing moves they would have called magic had he not done them in a null-magic field.”

“Part time?”

“He has some curse that the mages can’t remove that changes his gender when he’s hit with cold water, hot water restores him.”

“And how do you know that?” asked Gar.

Sheila shrugged. “They told me over dinner last week.”

“You ate with them?” screamed Gar.

Sheila sighed. “Sorry, Mrs. Diggers, but my brother’s convinced they can’t be real because they don’t have most of the weaknesses other lycanthropes do.”

“How else do you explain it?” asked Gar.

“The same way I can explain why I’m short for a werecat,” said Sheila.

“But two of them?” countered Gar.

“Could you two just explain what’s going on without the debate?” asked Julia.

Gar gulped. “Sorry, Sensei. But since you’re the only one who’s ever seen a were-cheetah, we were hoping you could either confirm or deny that they’re real.”

“Okay then,” said Julia. “Where are they at?”

“Their house,” said Sheila. “When they brought those bandits in, they used the reward money to buy some land—kind of easy since the rewards on those ten was pretty high, build a Dojo, and set up shop. The cursed male even works at Nali’s clinic, while the female set up some accounting business.”

Smirking, she looked over at her brother. “He’s just upset because Ranma—that’s the guy’s name by the way—he beat him in a spar ... as a human.”

“You just like him because he helped you kick Tirga’s ass when he hit on Ranma in his cursed form,” muttered Gar.

“O ... kay,” said Julia. “Well then, let’s go meet them.”
