And that Timeline's Shun was quite totally right in one aspect, too - pink was just so so so not Ikki's color...
"...Uh. Um." 'Ami' mumbled, staring. "And the really weird thing is, that Timeline...doesn't seem to be one of the really Dark ones by any means, actually..."
"Hmmm, you're right." 'Makoto' murmured in turn. "That version of Ikki - and all the others of that Timeline's Athena's Five, actually - don't die after all, well, not then, anyhow, and that version of Shun eventually does seem to come to his senses, somewhat. And look here - there're still a fair amount of Shadow Saints alive and following Shun's orders and generally being more of a help then a hindrance out in that Timeline all the way up to the Hades battle and beyond, so -"
"Not all that Dark at all, in all, then?" 'Haruka' said, shrugging.
"That seems about right to me too..." 'Michiru' murmured, nodding.
Hmmmmmm. Interesting, that. Athena sighed, yet again.
If only the sight of Ikki in pink - and with chains, let us not forget the chains - was not so darn brainbreaking...
"Well alright, then, everybody. If anybody has any idea about what to try to scan now..."
***Timeline A
Tendo Akane stretched out to the skies, and then down to the ground, slowly going through her morning exercise routines. Ahh, the garden was nice at this time of the year, all flowers and soft new leaves, and the breeze was just right, too, brisk but not too cold...
It would have been perfect. If it wasn't for the minor fact that this was a school day, that is.
Akane growled, then. Oh, Kunou-sempai, Kunou-sempai, let me count the ways...
Just what the heck did that idiot classmate of her sister think he was, anyhow, declaring to all and sundry that he 'wouldn't approve' of anybody who couldn't best Akane dating her? Kunou Tatewaki, Kendo Club Captain, wins at Kendo but loses at life, apparently.
And then that had apparently somehow managed to mutate into a rumor that she'd promised to date anybody who managed to beat her in a bout, to boot! ...Or maybe it had been a rumor that she'd promised Kunou-sempai that's she'd date him if he managed to beat her? She wasn't really sure about the details, but... Ewww.
Akane sighed, then.
It was childish, she knew, but sometimes, just sometimes - she wished that something like superpowers or super-level Martial Arts or something like that actually existed. Like in some of the mangas or animes or something.
Oh, to have to power to just punt Kunou-sempai over the school walls or something....
...Though now that she thought about it, if she actually lived in a universe were such things were possible, Kunou-sempai would probably be some kind of super-Kendoist, so...
Gaaah, gaaah, gaaah. Even her own imagination was trying to pull her down, this morning.
Something really had to be done, though. Hmmmm... Maybe she could try asking her sister Nabiki for advice, for starters. Nabiki was in the same class as Kunou-sempai, after all, and she did seem to know him at least a little, so - hmmmm.
Now as for how much that might actually cost...
***Timeline B
Tendo Akane stretched out to the skies, and then down to the ground, slowly going through her morning exercise routines. Ahh, the garden was nice at this time of the year, all flowers and soft new leaves, and the breeze was just right, too, brisk but not too cold...
It would have been perfect. If it wasn't for the minor fact that this was the last day of summer vacation, that is.
Akane growled, then. Oh, Mr Kunou, Mr Kunou, let me count the ways...
The bloody moron. He made her embarrassed to be a Gryffindor sometimes, honestly...
In the meanwhile, a certain Slytherin was pointing a rather expensive Wizarding Camera (All photos totally curse-proofed! Guranteed!) at her sister from a well-concealed location. If Akane had any idea just how popular she was in all four of the Houses...
Heh, heh, heh.
And Tendo Souun was secretly sighing, looking at his eldest daughter pouring him and herself tea. Though what Kasumi was doing with her tea-cup, now...
"Oh, dear."
"...Eh?" Souun blinked.
"I'm not sure that camera's curseproofing is really all that it's cracked up to be, frankly... I mean, I just figured out about six different ways to crack it just by scrying it now, soo..."
Souun sighed. His eldest daughter was such a Ravenclaw, even after graduation... "Ahh, Kasumi? ...What camera?"
***Timeline C
Tendo Akane stretched out to the skies, and then down to the ground, slowly going through her morning exercise routines. Ahh, the garden was nice at this time of the year, all flowers and soft new leaves, and the breeze was just right, too, brisk but not too cold...
It would have been perfect. If it wasn't for the minor fact that...
Akane sighed, then. It wasn't like she thought Lord Kunou (the younger) had done it on purpose, but...
Just how could an off-hand comment that basically said that people who couldn't even come near to besting her in a match shouldn't even be thinking of asking her out could mutate into...into this ridiculous big fat mess, anyhow?
What were all those people thinking of, anyway? It wasn't like - like Young Lord Kunou himself was trying to ask her out or anything. At all. That kind of thing was totally against Imperial Law, just for starters - Methuselah and Terrans were Just Not Supposed To Have Those Kinds Of Relationships, everybody knew that - Ew ew ew ew ew ew, what did they think she was, or more to the point, what did they think he was? Oh, she did know that sometimes the laws got broken, if such things didn't happen they wouldn't be laws like that in the first place, but -
Arrrgh, her head hurt.
Akane sighed, then. Oh, this was only a little thing, now, but - it didn't deem at all well for her future prospects, did it now?
And that exact moment was the moment that a pair of boots planted themselves in front of her lowered eyes.
...Rather familiar-looking expensive boots, all things considered.
Akane gulped. What. What. Err, c'mon girl, kneel, kneel now -
"Tendo Akane. - Raise."
...OK, so this wasn't some kind of weird dream. ...Probably.
" -L--LLLLLord Kunou!?"
"Correct."
Lord Kunou Tatewaki was not a unfamiliar face at her School, Fuurinkan - but that was technically within the Methuselah section of the City (even though it was right near the Terran section), since it was a training school for those Terrans who aspired to pass the Tests, and serve the Empire as High-ranking Servitors, and it was considered best that those students get used to their Overlords as soon as possible. Oh, Fuurinkan wasn't really considered a high-class facility, as such things were judged - it was nice and clean and pretty and they had all the basic stuff and even a little more, but the rates were far too 'reasonable' (even including the 'voluntary donations') and most of the students weren't from the 'better families', just for one thing. Still, it was on the Other Side, and her house - wasn't.
To think that Young Lord Kunou was here, at her house, right smack in the Terran section -
What. The. Heck?
"Tendo Akane, at ease. It was simply that I wished to ask you something - "
And now, Young Lord Kunou actually seemed somewhat - flustered. Akane innerly groaned. "...Ahhh...Ask me what, your lordship?"
"Well actually - whether your father would be up to, say, an - exbition match at the School. I thought that kind of thing might solve - a number of problems at one swoop, perhaps..."
Akane blinked. Ooookaaaay...
Athena blinked at the scrying bowl, as did her friends.
"Say, Athena - is that thing supposed to have a mind of it's own?" 'Haruka' murmured faintly.
"Not to my knowlege, but - " Athena sighed, yet again. Well, at least that had gotten her mind off the image of Ikki in pink with chains for a moment, anyhow...
"Hmmmm. It's those Tendo people again, I see - all those different versions are quite interesting, actually..." 'Ami' murmured. "The first one was from - hmmm. A Timeline were there are no Super Martial Arts, or those things are not common, anyhow, I suppose..."
"That's what it seems like, yes." 'Michiru' murmured in turn. "And the second one is - Hmmm, a Timeline with some kind of Magical School, I see... Hmmm. It does seem somewhat familiar, actually..."
"But the third one..." 'Makoto' mumbled. "Hmmm. Those - overlords are...interesting. They don't get along UV and silver, etc? Those garlic doesn't seem to give them any problem..."
Hmmmm.......
