Demon Past: Not your usual all-girls school [Episode 169507]

by The Demented Redhead

There were only a few reasons Nabiki chose to stay at the school for priestesses. It was more for her own need of power and control than anything else. There, they could teach her to be strong, to stand on her own.

In the past, she had never felt so weak.

Here, the Ice Queen had little effect. After all, it was a time where the Male Ego ruled more than equality.

The best she could hope for was as a priestess. In some villages, the simple position held more authority than a shogun.

So, if she was going to be stuck here in the past—not being strong enough or powerful enough to force Ranma to go to the Amazons and steal the Nanban mirror—she would still carry the authority she had hoped to wield in the present.

Ranma; as usual, wanted to be part of the training. So thus “she” was forced to apply and get accepted. Sure, Ranma was forced to spend time as female and take part. But then again, Ranma was far more likely to stay a “pure female” than Nabiki was.

It was hard work, but the drive to eventually return home was more driving then anything else.

Of course, nothing quite equaled the experience of Nabiki having to explain a “period” to Ranma, Ranma having spent more than enough time in a female form for the biologic process to take place. It was funny at first. But soon the fun lost its charm, and Nabiki found herself not only hard pressed to explain it to Ranma, but to her fellow priestesses-in-training.

But it was Ranma’s way. They would spend half the day in priestess training, and Ranma would change to a guy to try and apply the techniques learned to his guy form. It would have been better if he could have received training under a powerful monk. But that was not an option at the moment.

That was not to say the training was all work and no play for Nabiki. She talked with and made friend with two rookie priestesses named Momiji and Botan. The two reminded her a lot of Akane; trying hard to make the right moves, but often failing because they reached too far too fast.

Too bad her learning curve could almost be as strong as Ranma’s if she put her mind to something.

But all good things...

Nabiki looked back, wearing her robes, as she stared at the entrance to the school. “It feels wrong somehow to be leaving.”

Ranma nodded. “They were our friends, and you’re worried you might never see them again.”

Nabiki shook her head. “This is all in the past for us. Why does it matter?”

“Because knowing simple facts and the people behind them are two different things.”

Nabiki sighed as she nodded. It was one thing to read about a past history; but it was entirely something else to be living it, to experience highs and lows with the people involved.

Ranma placed his hand on her shoulder, his eternal smile ever present. “Come on; it’s time to go.”

Nabiki nodded, as they headed out to the wild world of their past.

“Ya know, I just hope we don’t end up being our own grandparents or something.”

Nabiki could only sigh. Leave it up to Ranma to ruin a perfectly good moment.
