What he had forgotten was the element of surprise. Even a weak opponent could take the opportunity given by a misstep to whap a fighter over the top of his head with a blunt instrument. It didn't take all that much in the way of brains or guts to do that, but had a lot to do with timing, and being able to grab one's chance. A Jaffa had used one such chance, and, as a result, he and his comrades were not standing over the prone figure of the pigtailed boy.
However, there was one thing that they should have realized. If one could surprise another, someone else could surprise that person as well.
Such a lesson was taught when something smacked right into the warrior who'd zapped Ranma tried to lean over the boy. He didn't know what hit him, mainly because he hadn't seen what had struck him. Rather, he'd been knocked aside by a single hit, which had left him laying flat on the ground. The other Jaffa that he'd hit into needed a moment to either regain their footing, or to get out from under him.
That was when a figure moved between them and the teenaged martial artist, which made it clear whomever it was had just become an obstacle between them and the one who'd been their opponent only moments earlier. So, the group of Jaffa turned the focus of their attention from the boy that had just been knocked out to what was now blocking their way.
And what was between them and the boy at that moment was a:
