"Er, Akane," he finally managed to bring himself to say. "Why aren't you wearing any clothes?"
The naked girl standing above him looked down at him like he had just asked a very stupid question.
“You ordered me to go naked, don’t you remember Ranma,” she reminded him.
Ranma’s imitation of a floundering fish seemed to be getting better all the time. “Look Akane, I didn’t mean for the all those stupid wishes to go off like that. I didn’t even know what they did.” as he went into full ‘Avoid Akane/beating’ mode, scurrying out of bed and against the wall.
Akane’s face spread out into a Cheshire grin equal to one that would have made her older sister proud. “Gee Ranma, since when did you get so skittish. You didn’t have a problem with me like this last night.” She turned around and headed back out of the bedroom. “Now hurry up. Kasumi isn’t going to be pleased if the head of her harem doesn’t show up for her big announcement on time.”
The bedroom door slid close, leaving Ranma in a stunned silence as his mind tried to process the lack of conditioned behavior to seeing Akane in anything less than her pajamas. It was understandable that he didn’t notice the new party entering into his room from, to his knowledge, a previously unknown door.
“Oh ho ho ho ho ho. Well my dear Ranma, it seems that what ever the Empress is going to say today was important enough that Princess Akane only kept you awake half the night. The fact that she didn’t bring any of her devices with her…” said a voice that sent his pigtail out straight behind him.
“Kodachi!” As he leapt to his feet, while still trying to keep the blanket in it’s coverage. “Look, I don’t have time for you right now. Something strange is going on, so why don’t…” as he trailed off taking a good look at the former gymnast. Gone were the usual black leotards and gymnastic equipment that she carried with her almost everywhere, only to be replaced with a black toga draped over her shoulder that left even less to the imagination.
Kodachi hmphed, her regal nose going up in the air. “Well then, I apologize First Consort. I only came to see if you needed any assistance in preparing yourself. Since it is obvious that you no longer need my services, I shall take my leave.” As she turned to leave, “I shall wait to escort you outside. Do not dawdle as I have no intention to raise the Empress’s ire.”
Ranma stared in disbelief as Kodachi left. She actually left. She listened and did what he asked. Well, one thing about that twisted wish was making things better. But “Princess Akane. Empress. What exactly did I wish for?” he mused, making his way quickly for his clothes before Shampoo decided to burst in on him and sell him life insurance.
Kodachi rolled up from the pile of pillows she had been relaxing on as Ranma’s door slid open, and he stepped out, fidgeting with the clasp on his toga.
“Hey Kodachi, what did you do with my pack. And my clothes, all I found were piles of…these…sheets?” as Ranma came to a stop for the third time this morning. What had once been the hallway of the Tendo home was now a sprawling den of opulence. He barely had time to even start taking in the sight of the large pool, or the handfuls of half naked males and females that lounged around it and the room before Kodachi grabbed his hand and yanked him across.
“First Consort, I don’t know what the Princess did to you last night that addled your mind so. But you best gather your thoughts. Now is not the time for you to start playing some new game.” As Kodachi whispered to Ranma as she dragged him out of the harem’s quarters and into the main hallway. “The Empress’s guests will be arriving soon, and we must be in our places before they do.”
Ranma tried to keep up with Kodachi; his head whipping back and forth as she dragged him along through someplace that definitely was not the Tendo home and dojo, but more like the Emperor’s palace. Just what HAD he wished for?
