The light came down... and teleported in many powerful soldiers wearing mecha armor. They swarmed over the towns and cities. They captured the people, and then caged them.
The soldiers were happy. They should get a lot of money for this many slaves. The people were... not quite so happy.
The soldiers then looted the towns/cities. They took everything that could be used. Then they set fire to them.
The towns/cities of Earth burned. In a few days, they were all gone. The soldiers were enlightened thugs and mercs though, they took any culture they could. They saved Earth's art, sculpture, poems, literature... all that stuff. They would add it to a collection.
The soldiers even took Mt. Rushmore.
By the time they were done, most of Earth's people were slaves, Earth's culture was stolen, and the towns and cities lay burned to the ground.
The soldiers then started building bases all over the Earth, to build ships to conquer more worlds. The few humans left on Earth were slaves. They built, labored, and slaved for them.
But all was not lost. There was still a group of humans who were free. They were determined to free the Earth. Hope was with them also. The aliens looked just like humans did.
Some groups of humans had infiltrated the enemy now. They had hacked their computers and learned much about the enemy. They learned the enemy was actually called...
