"So how's our favorite stud-horsie today? Still being followed around by the Menace With The Glaive, I suppose?"
Ahh, this was the life. Tennou Haruka looked across the sparkling bay, clad in only a rather daring bikini. Her partner Kaiou Michiru, dressed in a slightly more demure but no less stunning outfit, pushed drinks with an umbrella on it Haruka's way.
"Oh, yes. Thank goodness - you know, Haruka, it's quite possible we might have ended up taking care of her, if he hadn't all-so-conveniently bedazzled little miss Death Star In A Mini-skirt. Eww."
"Ewww indeed."
Haruka smiled, taking a drink - unfortunately non-alcoholic, but it did taste good.
"So we continue doing what we have been?"
"As in 'Operation : Try to keep Sailor Moon and the Inners as far away from Saturn as possible'? Daaaamn right. It's bad enough that Moon and her friends just keep on insisting on doing their little 'missions of mercy' all the time, after all - Well, alright, so they're not half as worthless as I thought at first, but still."
"Oh, come on, Haruka."
Michiru chuckled, sipping her drink.
"You like Moon."
"Baaah."
Haruka snorted.
"They're a pain in the posterior. The way they keep insisting on fighting whenever anybody is in trouble - Let AEGIS handle their own Enemies, and we handle ours, I say!"
"Well sometimes, the difference between the two is not so obvious..."
"True, true."
Haruka sighed.
"But most of the time - what pings our Senshi instincts usually are pretty distinct, you know?"
Michiru sighed. She was quite aware of what really bothered Haruka, after all.
"True, true."
Haruka took a looong sip at her drink.
"But what really annoys me, really, is that they keep on helping them. I mean, how many times does AEGIS has to show that they have no such thing as a sense of gratitude what-so-ever? Moon does the healing and cleansing bit, and they scream brainwashing in her face. I once saw a AEGIS flunky say "Thank you" to Moon, you know, and that was after she'd broken a whole lot of people out of some energy-sucker's cages. Just once. And I never saw that particular flunkey again - turns out he's been transferred to Hokkaido, or something. 'Reliability problems', hah!"
Michiru remembered that particular incident. Even the mausians, looking sick to their feline faces, were going down into the dark with the rest of the Inners - what else could they have done but follow?
"Hmmmm. It might be worthwhile looking this person up, though - do you remember his name?"
"Oh, I still have a file on him someplace. Here."
Haruka sighed.
"Oh, I know, AEGIS does have it's uses, but - "
"If there wasn't an AEGIS, we most probably wouldn't have time to take vacations by the beach, Haruka. - And the Inners, of course."
Haruka shrugged at that.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah - Just as long as they keep Saturn out of our hair and occupied with things that aren't Senshi business, I'm willing to give them lots of leeway, actually..."
"And away from the Inners."
Michiru added.
"Oh, yeah. Please. The last thing we want is Saturn actually trying to 'act like a Senshi' - can you imagine the havoc the Senshi of Destruction and Rebirth trying to do what Moon and the Inners do, day in and day out? Gaaah."
And Michiru had no answer to that.
"Saotome-kun's soo handsome, don't you think? I mean, he's almost as good-looking as my Sempai!"
"Oh, Mako-chan..."
Rei, Ami and Minako all sighed. Usagi looked back at them, her mouth full of cookies.
"Uh? Is somebody talking about Ranma-kun?"
"Yes, Usagi, we were."
Usagi smiled, thinking of the boy she'd talked to, a couple of years ago.
"He is, isn't he? Not as handsome as my Mamo-chan, though - "
"Yeah, yeah."
Rei mumbled, thinking that though one Saotome Ranma was handsome, Yuuichirou actually was nicer-looking. Awk! Had she really thought that?
"It's a shame that it seems like it's true that he actually is working for AEGIS, isn't it..."
Ami murmured.
"Ah, yes. They probably have him brainwashed to the core by now - Senshi Evil Invaders, bah bah bah. It's a shame, really."
Makoto sighed, crunching cookies and sipping tea.
"Though at least he's not mean, like- well, Lightwings?"
All the other girls gagged at that.
"Aaawk, Mako-chan, stop! Poor Ranma-kun doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as that meanie..."
"Yeah, yeah."
Makoto mumbled.
"All those bloody blinding mind-bending powers, and they dare complain that we brainwash people!"
Ami shivered.
"Not to mention Poor Sailor Saturn. She follows him around like a lovesick puppy..."
"Oh, yes."
Usagi sighed.
"I wish Uranus and Neptune wouldn't keep interfering whenever I try to talk to poor Saturn, though. - Do you think there every really was a parasite in her, like Lightwings said?"
Ami nodded.
"Well, normally, if Lightwings said the sun rose from the east, I'll have this strong urge to get up early to check, but - in this case, probably."
Ami took another cookie.
"Uranus and Neptune seem to think that Saturn is a complication best kept away from Senshi business as much as possible, but then, they seemed to think pretty much the same way about us at first, you know."
"Oh, right! So they might change their minds if Saturn showed them she was a proper Senshi, you mean?"
Usagi said happily, then paused.
"Except that the only thing she's interested now is..."
"Following Lightwings around and being his sidekick."
Rei sighed.
"I mean, people in love are supposed to act weirdly, I know - but that girl is -"
Usagi, Rei, Ami, Makoto and Minako all looked at each other, then.
Something really did have to be done...
