"So it's a deal then?"
The tall, dark-haired scion of the Kunou line nodded slightly as he looked across the booth at his dining partner. "Verily, Tendou Nabiki, we have come to an agreement. In exchange for this device which you purport shall communicate to mine own greatness ever the whereabouts of the osage-no-onna, I shall grant to you the Kunou Estate's own baseball team- though for what you wish it, I shall never understand."
The brown-haired Tendou just smirked slightly as she sipped her pineapple smoothie, pushing aside the emptied dessert plate. "Well then, Kunou-baby," She intoned, resting her elbows on the tabletop and lacing her fingers, "You're going to have to tell me the names of the team members."
The kendoist, folding his arms over his chest with his bokken in the crook of one elbow nodded. "Indeed, and such I shall communicate to you. Though, you must understand, the men have given each other some very.. unusual monikers by which they prefer to be known. I can hardly fathom the depths of inanity to which they have sunk, to call each other thus and answer, but I shall dispense to you their titles." His eyes narrowed as he focused. It had been all the fault of his Hawaii-loving father, he was sure of it...
"Well?" Nabiki questioned, when her classmate remained silent. "I'm waiting."
"Indeed." Came the curt reply. "But you shall wait no longer. I shall tell you as such: Who is on first, what is on second, I Don't Know is on third..."
"Mm-hmmm... continue."
"Today is our pitcher, our catcher is tomorrow, Why is the left fielder, Because operates in the center field, and I Don't Give A Darn is the shortstop."
Nabiki nodded. "Excellent. And here you go. See you tomorrow, Kunou-baby."
Passing over a small tracker tuned to a series of microchips that she had sewn into the cuffs of Ranma's pants, Nabiki stood and left.
In the next booth over, Hiroshi looked across the table at his friend. "Daisuke, why do I feel like we were just cheated out of an entertaining scene?"
