RiW/Ranma II: Your own personal Personacom [Episode 17106]

by Kestral

Ranma looked over at one of the displays running the newest personacom commercial while he thought about his choice.

(to the tune of "personal Jesus" by Depeche Mode)
IMAGE: Marching across the scene, heads shaking and moving to the beat, dozens of near-human female androids. Some are voluptuous, others are more girl(droid) next door, others are classically beautiful.

Your own personal android,
Someone to be your friend,
Someone who cares,
Your own personal personacom
Someone for you is there
Someone who cares."

IMAGE: Camera pans further and further back until you can see there are literally thousands moving in a fractal pattern.

Feeling unknown
And you're all alone
Flesh and bone
By the vidiphone
Pick up your transceiver,
You'll be a believer!

IMAGE: Similar marching, but this is: horses, tigers, wolves, large dogs, small dogs, cats, hawks, owls, toucans, and laptops (pixies)

Loneliness can take a rest
Put us to the test
Things off your chest
You need to address
We can deliver
You know it's a given

IMAGE: Similar pan out to reveal a fractal pattern formed by thousands. Image switches to mythological creatures and purely robotic looking units.

We have just the unit for you, body and personality styling based on a fictional character from an old anime. Those whose series has been largely forgotten since the turn of the century are retired from the Animeland theme park and most put in for continued service in another capacity."

Ranma/Hiro lurched slightly as the two boarded a slidewalk - a motorized sidewalk/escalator combination.

"She's right here, in stasis mode," announced the maid as they got off on a level. "She's-"
