"A minor Netherworld with a minor Demon Lord," reported Alecto, his Ghost type. "Not many resources."
Ranma nodded. "Yeah. Sounds good."
"That's likely not to be much of a challenge, milord," said Alecto.
Ranma was perfectly happy settling things with his fists. Most people like himself took command of areas because in the Netherworld - strength and the willingness to use it ruled over everything else. Still, managing an area or any number of other details required knowledge. Which was how he'd acquired most of his followers, needing a particular skillset. To manage his money and other similar items he'd found a little bullied Ghost type who claimed to have been an accountant at an investment brokerage. For rescuing Alecto, he'd gotten the pudgy little critter's loyalty.
Alecto had the job of 'Resource Management Director' - something suggested by another of Ranma's followers and which had apparently made Alecto a very proud ghost type.
"Not much of a challenge for ME," qualified Ranma. "Who's gonna do the perimeter guarding and the upkeep?"
"Ah, I see your point, milord," agreed Alecto.
Ranma nodded. Alecto tried, which was more than some at least.
He had his Beast Master, who really was better with monsters than with people. He'd catch her strumming some harp, sitting in a branch on a tree in the paddock more often than not. Particularly when someone else was trying to get her to do something.
He had the usual assortment, as he understood it. A few transformed humans, a few naturally born demons, a few amnesiacs, a few drifters, a few really weird ones.
This asteroid looked to be about right for his purposes. He could go in, establish the landing zone, head in to fight the current Demon Lord, and his army would root out the ground forces that wouldn't surrender.
He'd have to come up with a title though, that might be the hard part. All the good ones were taken, but all the Overlords had one. There was the 'Overlord Over Overlords', the 'Beauty Queen Overlord', the 'Darkest Night Overlord', the 'Most Puissant And Diabolical Overlord', the 'Supreme Overlord', the 'Even More Supreme Than That Overlord Overlord', the 'Overlord Of Nightmares', and so on. Couldn't be a real Overlord without a fancy title, it was in the union rules or something or maybe it was a reputation thing.
"So what can ya tell me about this Overlord?" asked Ranma.
"Tyrantominus Aleph Zed Zed Niner," said Alecto, after consulting his copy of Tobin's Spirit Guide, Netherworld Edition. "Level 1000 Demon Lord/Cyborg, Pirate, has a drinking problem. Keeps a harem of sexslaves he's captured from multiple realities. He's a hoarder too, doesn't research anything he can't immediately use - just throws them in his vault. That got him in trouble when one old urn turned out to have a shuggoth in it, but he managed to deal with that crisis."
Ranma hmmmed at that. Guy stole things and kept them in his vault. Which meant that he might have special weapons and techniques and such that he wasn't using lying in storage. He was able to beat a shuggoth though, so THAT indicated there might just be a decent fight.
In that case, he could hardly wait.
