As the bell for the change of the period began to ring, she went from anticipating the sound to tensing to the point where she was nearly about crouch over her desk.
"Any questions?" the teacher asked, looking over the students.
Not a single voice was raised from the teenagers.
"Any questions?"
Repeating the question was not needed, as it got the same silence.
"Well then...."
Now, everyone tensed as they readied themselves for what they were about to hear.
"Class is finished then."
"Stand. Ready," called out the class representative. "Bow."
Taking only as long as she needed to sketch something that might generously be considered a 'bow', Akane reached over, grabbed her spouse's arm, and dragged him out of the room, charging off so fast that some girls were ready to hold their skirts from flying up. Only the sound of her footsteps, and the sound of the cloth around Ranma's bento moving as he held it could be heard. Not that she was about to stop to do some conversations at the moment.
Given the way that her class was going ever since she had revealed that she was married, this was perfectly understandable, as some individuals were already looking out at the direction that the couple had just left in.
It had taken less time to go around the school than there had been minutes in the first period. The fact that the school's own 'idol' had already been wed was big news, and there was a lot of interest in it, since a lot had been invested into the situation around her. Either she was a desirable girl, a bit of entertainment, or a major hassle that had needed dealing with, but to all, she was someone to keep an eye on. What happened to her was important, as it would automatically have repercussions for the entire school.
That was why some students were trying to slip off to see what was going on for themselves, including some who were rather interested in the fact that a classmate had reacted oddly to the information herself.
But even then, that student still managed to freeze them in place by the tone in her voice alone.
"You all really think that it would be a good idea to go bother my sister and her husband," Nabiki coolly commented without even bothering to look up from where she was putting her books away. "Do you?"
The students who'd been about to slip out of class to go spy on the school's 'couple of the day' stopped in place and flushed guiltily.
"I thought so."
Ranma really had wanted to have lunch with his wife. Doing so was only the natural thing to do, given the fact that she was the girl that he loved. Even if they'd merely been 'boyfriend and girlfriend', it would be normal for them to take any opportunity to sit together. There was even the expectation that a girl would make a bento for the boy that she liked, and Ranma didn't see why that wouldn't be a good idea. Well, it might not be the best thing to do with Akane's cooking. He had been warned about her meals by Nabiki, and from what he had seen of her leftovers, being a chef certainly was not in her future.
Still, she had not needed to drag him off like that. He would have gone willingly, and sat with her as he was doing now. Not that he particularly minded the push to get out of class, even if things were a bit... different than what he might have expected. In the past, he'd merely thought of this as a time where they'd sit together with open lunch boxes, and plenty of sharing as they ate.
What he got was an audience.
There was apparently two camps at the moment, split on gender lines. The girls were all blushing, bearing big, glittering eyes, and the goofiest smiles on their faces. On the other hand, the boys were mainly sitting there, either giving him 'knowing' looks, looking put out over the fact that his wife was out of their reach, or a clear desire to question him.
Well, there was a third group, made up of boys who were all glaring 'doom' and jealousy at him, but as they gave him the creeps, he cheerfully ignored them.
"Sorry about dragging you around like that," his wife murmured as she jabbed her chopsticks into her rice.
Shrugging, the pigtailed boy rubbed the back of his head. "Well, it ain't like I can't understand just why you did it. I mean, I ain't lookin' for one of 'em ta come and interrogate me."
"Yeah. And that's another thing. Can't these idiots find something else to gawk at?"
"Guess not. I could try ta 'send' them away...."
"That's so sweet. But it's okay, Ranma," Akane thanked him, gently patting his hand, while:
