Angelion, a Divine Dragon, looked for cursed items to toss off the ship.
Ranma quickly went along, looking for opponents. When he found what looked to be a fortified jail section, he decided to leave it alone for now. He'd come back and deal with the individuals when he had some free time.
Stetson the Fenrir was still hungry and looking for a pizza.
Harris the Wood Golem was still hoping there was a garden.
The first problem was that AZZ9's battleplanetoid was just that - a planetoid. Roughly spindle-shaped rock with a control tower/bridge on top, a big gun in front, littler guns strewn everywhere, and engines that looked like rocket nozzles stuck out the back. It was also a kilometer long and a quarter that thick at the thickest. Typical of Netherworld architecture - there were lots of nooks and crannies and dead ends, with a few secret passages and the like around for good measure.
Exploring it would be a pain and a half.
Her name was S'lva Sahroes and her title was The Gambler Overlord. Some, who knew her better, called her the Mistress Of Manipulation.
She kept track of many things, figured the odds constantly, and manipulated events continually.
Had Ranma stuck around, eventually he might challenge her for Battlefrenzy Arena. Had any of the others who had followed Ranma remained, they might eventually have done the same.
Ranma was a human transformed to an Aragami, even if he still looked human except for the pointed ears and scars and such. A true battle hunter who had fought his way through some of the toughest item worlds, Netherworlds, and Arena fights. He was currently rated level 5814, but she knew that was old data.
Alecto was his accountant and general manager. A Specter, and not a terribly high level one. He was only rated at level 32 and it was only by trailing after Ranma in several battles that he'd gotten THAT much power. He was also a coward, at least when it came to physical threats.
Stetson, his Fenrir, had once been as gung ho and combat oriented as Ranma. Now though he seemed to spend more time amusing himself with teasing Prinnies and pursuit of exotic food.
There was the Gunner, a Desperado named James. Rarely in Arena fights - more often used in Netherworld battles and the Item Worlds where his ranged attack skills complimented Ranma's up-close ones, even though James was only rated level 53. With his Megiddo Cannon and accuracy, he could eliminate opponents before they could fall into reach of Ranma's fists.
Angelion, the Divine Dragon, was a bit of a loss - she didn't think he'd ever go challenging her - but his 'sense of justice' was hardly something she felt comfortable around. At the very least he'd have just gone ahead and left her Netherworld at some point, probably when it was less convenient for her.
As for the Wood Golem, Harris - she was more than happy to get rid of HIM. The one-shot wonder, as nobody had expected the massive and powerful figure to be so poorly inclined towards personal combat. The first time he was hit by an attack usually finished whatever fight he was in. As he WANTED to be a farmer or gardner, well, he was probably better off than as a gladiator.
All of the twenty were powerful in some fashion, or skilled in some trade, and all tainted with some flaw that S'lva saw herself better off without. Demon Chef McGregor, for example, and that annoying brogue. She never could understand what the heck the man was saying. Or Alecto's inherent cowardice when it came to any physical pain, despite his noncombat organizational skills.
She had a spy, or agent, among those ranks of course. She could only play it so far, as her agent wouldn't actively betray Ranma - but would keep tab of her former soldier's activities and relay them.
It would do.
From what he could see, his followers had things well in hand, so Ranma decided to turn his attentions to:
