Ranma's New Day: Shipwrecked and 3 million light-years from Earth. [Episode 172574]

by Kestral

Ranma didn't know that eventually the scientists gathered back on Earth were deciding that their probe had ended up on an old star in the outer fringes of the Triangulum Galaxy (aka Galaxy M33) and rejoicing at proof that their stardrive technology WORKED. It just needed some major problems fixed before they could send a human being. After all, any human exposed to the drive at present would be seriously screwed up not to mention lost in space.

Ranma would have loved to tell those people that they HAD sent a human being. Unfortunately, no matter how loud he yelled - it was NOT going to cross that intervening distance.

He awoke in the wrecked ship and knew a few moments of horror and frustration inside the ruptured ship. He was hurt, he was bleeding, he was losing air, and he was missing body parts. The part that REALLY got him upset, most of the rest of it being put to the side as something he couldn't do anything about anyway, was that KUNO and the others had apparently gotten away with murder.

As his consciousness faded, he thought he saw movement with bits of hull being peeled back. Odd what lack of air and blood loss could make you think you saw.

Lifeform found. Life signs terminating.

Carbon based lifeform. Bipedal locomotion. Full dissection commencing.

Stabilizing neural net. Depressing consciousness. Main lifeform is sapient. Type IV structure, type I complexity.

Lifeform has multiple backup systems and is fairly primitive, apparently not improved upon from initial natural development.

Secondary life is of diverse extra-simplistic types. Parasites, bacteria, and similar lifeforms. Representitive samples taken.

Technology of craft is simple. Stardrive incomplete and 91% likely to have produced cellular damage to lifeforms in proximity.

Neural net sufficiently close to listed species Korvani to allow for access to data. Downloading commences.

There was a long pause as Ranma's memories were found, pulled out of the deteriorating organism, sifted, and analyzed.

Organism's history indicates a species which is completely screwed up.

Major agreement.

Consensus - major FUBAR.

Using memories of organism, can rebuild original organism.

Using data from ship, can construct habitat area.

Query. Subject race is 90% likely to extinguish selves. Allow?

Intelligent species almost all develop in similar manner and undergo crisis points.

Stardrive was used. Allow to expand off planet?

Subject's memories indicate main species 'human' sprinkled with individuals with parameters completely outside normal. See file 'martial artists' for further reference. Subject's race likely to have been modified by other species not native to planet.

Therefore species 25238 "Human" is artificially modified by unknown sapients.

Analysis of subject memories indicate organism was subject of attempt to terminate lifesigns by those acting outside legal framework. Desire for 'justice' found.

Good. I was bored anyway.
