Ranma's New Day: Kardashev scale [Episode 212256]

The Kardashev scale of technological advancement was a simple method for rating the tech level of an alien civilization in case one was ever determined.

A planet suddenly appearing out of a bloom of light at roughly 90 degrees from the elliptic, about at the distance of the asteroid belt, was indication that this WAS such an alien civilization.

A Type I Civilization could use all the power available on a planet. Roughly 10 to the 16th (or 17th) power in watts or 100 petawatts.

A Type II Civilization could use all the power of a solar system. Roughly 4x10 to the 26th power in watts.

A Type III Civilization could use all the power of a galaxy. 4x10 to the 37th power in watts.

That was where the old scale stopped. That was not where the Civilization stopped though. On that same scale they would have been around a Type V. Their power generation capabilities were beyond that of galaxy-tapping.

Old, powerful, and something very very dangerous.

They were bored. When someone came dropping in unexpectedly, they were understandably intrigued because this was something new.

It was made worse in that Ranma had not fallen where the elders of that civilization, or even the more responsible adults had been. Oh no. Ranma had been rescued by a group of what were essentially college students in the equivelant of a frat party.

They were worried about when they gathered up asteroids in their wake. They were worried about more when comets and asteroids began raining down on the surface of Mars. They were REALLY worried about when four of the larger Oort bodies abruptly vanished.
