As Nabiki remembered those words, she tried not to laugh out loud, considering the oxygen she had would be needed to outrun the giant orange bug out to get them.
Of course, what she wasn’t counting on was that she had just been grabbed by a pigtailed love interest and tossed to the ground, narrowly avoiding the horns of the Kuwagamon.
As she slid along the dirt, she once more began cursing that damned Arch. Paradise my ass!
Saving Nabiki from a painful end, Ranma quickly returned to his feet. “Hey, ugly!” he yelled at Kuwagamon. “Why don’t you pick on someone your own size?
“Mōko Takabisha!”
The two digimon and Nabiki could only stare as the ball of ki shot from his cupped hands, striking the returning bug digimon, and knocking it off course and into the ground.
“That was so cool!” yelled Lizarmon.
“I didn’t know humans had attacks,” said Kyokyomon, as she looked towards her partner.
“Ranma is ... different,” added Nabiki.
However, Kuwagamon was not done yet. Despite the fact the human had somehow managed to stun him, he would not be stopped by such a small—but surprisingly painful—attack. Roaring, he stood up, preparing to fight back.
“Mōko Takabisha Double!” yelled Ranma, launching a second assault. At least I’m as strong as I used to be. I’ll need it against bug-boy here!
“We’ll help too!” yelled Lizarmon. “Sticky Bubbles!” came his attack, as he spewed out green bubbles that clung to the kneeling bug digimon, as he tried to recover from Ranma’s attack.
“Metal Straw!” yelled Kyokyomon, as she spat out needle after needle towards Kuwagamon.
Kuwagamon struggled to stay up. He was still hurting from the recent attack by the other seven humans, and these two were putting up quite a fight. And those blue orbs that one human boy kept firing really hurt. Sweeping with his claws, he shoved as much Earth at the three attacking entities as he could.
Ranma grabbed the two digimon, hopping back to avoid either being buried, or being blinded from the attack. “You guys stay back,” said Ranma.
“We can take him!” yelled Lizarmon, trying to break free from Ranma’s grasp.
“We have to protect you!” yelled Kyokyomon.
Ranma didn’t doubt how much the two wanted to protect them. He could almost feel their battle auras beginning to rise. But they simply weren’t strong enough to hurt Kuwagamon. They would need more power than they had now.
So focused on the orange beast before them, neither human noticed their digivices glowing.
“Kyokyomon, digivolve to ... Ryuudamon!”
“Lizarmon, digivolve to ... Dalimon!”
Ranma dropped the now larger digimon, as they changed to their rookie forms.
Lizarmon was now Dalimon, a green reptile that looked almost like a cute and smooth Gojira (Godzilla to all the English speakers), except his spines were bright red.
Kyokyomon, now Ryuudamon, also resembled that, aside from being yellow with black samurai-like armor, with purple spines on it.
“Dali Tongue Whack!” cried Dalimon, as his tongue shot out, striking Kuwagamon directly in the ... face?
“Katana Attack!” cried Ryuudamon, as longer blades of metal shot out of her mouth, striking Kuwagamon as well.
Ranma just shrugged. He’d seen weirder. “Mōko Takabisha Double!” he cried, launching another attack.
Feeling his pain reach new levels, Kuwagamon took off as fast as he could into the skies. He would come back for them after he healed up from the newest encounter.
Perhaps he would even wait until he digivolved again.
“I think we won,” said Ranma as the orange insect took off.
“Oh yeah!” cried the excited Dalimon. “We bad!”
“Must you be so childish?” asked Ryuudamon.
Nabiki slowly stood up, looking at her new digimon, as Dalimon celebrated with Ranma. “Well, if it isn’t paradise, just make it, I guess.”
“What was that?”
“Nothing, um ... Ryuudamon,” said Nabiki.
“So now what do we do?” asked Ranma, the larger digimon now clinging to his back.
That was when a new unstoppable beast arrived, growling to let all know of its intent.
The group looked at Ranma’s stomach. Chuckling, the pigtailed boy scratched the back of his head. “Um ... what’s to eat around here?”
