Oh, there were parts of the Netherworlds that were not too dissimilar. You could even get fried noodles in a few places. It was taken as a whole, bamboo salesman driving by with his loudspeaker going, that was all so very Japan.
Finishing up and flipping the owner a chunk of change, glad that Alecto had managed to take a chunk of his operating funds - convert it to gold and then exchange it for yen. Having funds made operating in Tokyo a whole lot easier. After all, if he had to revert to how his father had taught him to get stuff - stealing it - he'd be getting in fights with WAY underpowered twits all the time.
Hmmm. Saotome address was here. Now he'd just look for... perfect. "HEY, Are you Genma Saotome?"
The portly man stopped in the process of sneaking out of his own yard. "Who wants to know?"
"I got a present for ya," said Ranma, holding up a nice package with the name of an upscale clothier on the bag. "That is, if ya are Genma Saotome."
"Well, yes," said the portly fellow with a nervous glance at the house. "If you'll just give me the 'present', I really need to get going."
"You want it right away?" asked Ranma. "You're sure?"
"Yes, give it to me right now!" demanded Genma. He could sell something coming from THAT store for a whole night of drinks if he chose a cheap enough locale.
"Okay," said Ranma with a smile. "Remember, you asked for it."
"And here we have a big Netherworld greeting being given by Ranma to his father," said the commentator for the Fight Channel. "OH, look at that. A King Of Beasts attack to start with and... he's dead. Oh, isn't that nice. Ranma's heading back to his base now to reincarnate his father. I must say I'm disappointed though, that attack only did 144,431 points of damage to his father and 20,340 to the street. I expected more from the father of a fighter like Ranma. And what's up with that street - haven't they heard of regenerating materials here? How backward is this mortal realm anyway?
"We'll continue to follow the adventures of battle favorite Ranma here on the Fight Channel!"
"How was I ta know he was that fragile?" asked Ranma. "He's my dad ain't he? I remember him as being some unstoppable warrior full of martial arts secrets he wouldn't pass on to me."
"So what do you want to do?" asked the Hospitaler.
"Well, bring him back," said Ranma.
