This time, he didn't need to do anything fancy though. In the moment between the last girl going through whatever it was, and the scenery turning back to 'normal', he did a flying leap, and, like a diver off a cliff, slipped into the rippling air. There didn't seem to be any real bump along the path, and he simply rolled back to his feet once he landed. In front of him, the girls were still going, and he was certain that none of them had sensed anything amiss yet.
The same couldn't be said for the guy in the mask, who he saw after he started following them again. It was almost as if the person was able to tell that there was something foreign to the area, and so he just seemed to pop up... everywhere that Ranma went. With his skill level, the pigtailed boy was able to avoid the guy, but it was only a matter of time until he'd slip up. That was something that Ranma instinctually knew, and he was trying hard to come up with some sort of strategy to deal with the guy.
Unfortunately, he didn't remember, until it was too late, that the two of them were not alone. He had jumped from one side of the path to another when he realized that he'd rustled bushes in his wake. From where he was, he could see the girls hear the sound and go on the alert, which meant bad things for him, especially when they came in his direction. With five girls coming at him, he needed to try and work to avoid all of them, as he didn't want to get into a fight. However, they didn't have any information about what had made the sound, so they simply went after him. And the difficulty of simply avoiding meant that, sooner or later, either he'd have to run away, or there'd have to be an actual contact.
It only took one girl, and she managed to get at him when he didn't expect it. He'd landed lightly after avoiding the masked guy, only to be attacked by her. Her first several thrusts were blocked, and he tried dodging, but couldn't quite do as well as he'd liked. But he did manage to keep her from hitting him, and in an attempt to keep things from going any further, he tried to trip her.
What happened was that she grabbed instinctually at his shirt, took one look at him as she fell to the ground, taking him with her, and gasped. "Ranma?"
At that moment, he knew that he was really in trouble, but he was too off balance in more ways than one to keep on track. As a result, he couldn't stop himself from falling with her, and landed on top of her. That wouldn't have been so bad... if he hadn't fallen just so that his mouth landed right on top of hers.
With him laying there, unable to stop his unintentional kiss, the other girls showed up, and made it rather impossible to avoid having this grow bigger.
One of the girls blinked as she took in the scene. "This... wasn't supposed to happen."
"We know," another commented. "But he /is/ here. And you know the laws about an outsider kissing an Amazon like this."
"I know...." Ranma wasn't too sure that he wanted to know why it sounded so ominous that he was accidentally kissing:
