Meeting one's boyfriend's parents was a bit nerve-wracking even if one lived in the Netherworld.
"My name is Honey Kisaragi, I was originally from the Netherworld of Transylikonn as a gynoid soldier of the Persocom series. I was upgraded twice during the Purgatoria War and another two times during my battles with Panther Zora." The very well stacked blonde looked off into the distance. "That's when I met Ranma."
"Ah," said Genma, settling back into a cushion. "You're a warrior yourself." He could tell obviously. Even if he hadn't fought alongside her he'd have been able to tell just from the way she moved. She had a confidence and awareness of her surroundings that spoke volumes about skill levels to him.
"Yes," agreed Honey. "I've been rated by the Fight Channel as Master-level in Sword, Gun, Bow, and Journeyman in Fist and Spear. I've fought back in Transylikonn using power armor, one-man jet fighters, and (of course) giant combining robots."
"I see," said Nodoka, who didn't understand much of that - other than Honey was apparently fairly accomplished in battle. "You met Ranma when fighting this panther?"
"Panther Zora," said Honey, a frown marking her face for the first time. "Not all Overlords prefer a straight-up fight, and some are less than content with their own Netherworlds. Ranma's old Overlord was a planner, a manipulative. Some called her 'the Gambler Queen' because she always had plans and strategies in place to win no matter what was going on around her. Panther Zora was more an infiltrator - getting her agents into positions where she could sow discord and false propaganda or simply wait until the right time to strike from within her enemy's ranks. She had five Netherworlds to her claim when she came to Transylikonn. We proved a little more resistant to her usual tactics so she had to go public before she normally would have. I met Ranma when he came there looking for a fight."
Genma nodded. Sounded like the sort of values he'd tried to instill in his son had taken.
"How old was he when you two met?" asked Nodoka.
"Oh, he must have been twelve or so," said Honey, looking wistful. "He was a real cutey then."
Nodoka took in the expression, voice tone, and shift in posture. She was well pleased with this, all the strange terminology and background to the side. "So you are ready to share my son?"
"Yes," said Honey. "That'll be fun."
Genma stared. Better the boy than him, that was all he could say.
"I must say that's an unusual attitude to encounter," said Nodoka, thinking she'd found a kindred spirit. Her gaze flicked towards her husband, thinking that when those 'witches 5' joined him for the evening - well, it would be very entertaining to be sure. And one did have to provide a proper example to one's children, did one not?
"There's also the problem of... children," said Honey, now looking wistful. "I can't have children myself, but if Ranma were to marry others as well..."
Victory fans momentarily snapped out before Nodoka regained her calm poise. "I'm so sorry to hear that dear. Still, we really must ensure the possibility, should we not?"
"Oh yes," said Honey, clapping her hands and letting parts of her anatomy jiggle enthusiastically. "How should I broach the subject? Ranma seems a bit shy..."
James looked down at the barrel. "You know, they're going to find you."
The barrel didn't reply.
James sighed. "I don't see why you're hiding anyway. It's not like they're going to hurt you. Well, not much."
The lid of the barrel creaked open slightly. "You remember our old Overlord? You remember those little 'games' she arranged?"
"Ranma, Ranma, Ranma," chided James. "You think they're gonna play games like that? Really?"
"Maybe not ALL of them." The lid closed. Hammering sounds came from within.
Queen Serenity looked over the others and nodded. This little 'shopping therapy' session had met dividends. "So we're in agreement?"
"Why is that girl staring at us? Her cat too?" asked Felicia.
"You've got cat ears and a tail, Morrigan has batwings," said Serenity. "There is myself, MOMO, Hotaru, and KOS-MOS here. We sort of stand out."
"I suppose," said Felicia, not sounding convinced.
"I'm just too young for this," said Hotaru.
"Nonsense dear," said Serenity, making a gesture. "Oh for the consummation phase, that's true enough. Though I dare say we could correct that through magic if there was any need. Same for MOMO for that matter. Yet if we simply make you a member of the hareem, you immediately gain a measure of protection as well as fringe benefits. Especially as the Lady Nodoka has seen fit to banish the cage. None is needed after all."
"What about the plan to get Ranma to accept his harem?" asked Morrigan, not losing sight of the carnal aspects.
"Oh, I've a plan to that," said Serenity, holding up hands that were suddenly adorned by manacles. "The old 'grateful damsel in distress' ploy."
"Don't you think that's too cliche?" asked Morrigan.
"Well, if not, I can always use them to chain Ranma to the bed," said Serenity. "Some guys like that angle."
"You know, that girl looks kind of like you, Serenity," said Felicia.
"Oh, probably just my daughter's incarnation in this universe," dismissed Serenity. "I'll make her acquaintance later. First things first."
