Strangely enough, she found it rather comforting that she had a fairly /normal/ aspect to the situation, given how she had some strange things to get used to.
"Kasumi, dear?" she murmured to her eldest daughter. "I have to go shopping.
The eldest of the daughters frowned slightly in dismay. "I could go for you."
"I know, and if this was a normal trip, I'd agree, but we will need other things that I will need to pick up, and I can't be sure as to where I would send you."
"Oh, I see."
"On the other hand, that doesn't mean that I'd have to go alone."
"Then you're going to take some of the girls?" Kasumi replied with a bright smile on her face, clapping her hands together in joy. "They'd so like that?"
"Oh?"
"Why, yes. This will let them do something, and I can bet that they will want to help out. Right?"
Noticing the glance coming from the elder girl, Hotaru nodded nervously, but with certainty.
"That's true, but...." Mrs. Tendo began.
"Hmm?"
"I need to make certain that you girls have the proper care that you deserve, and thought that it would be good to make things nice for you."
If the 'sparkly eyed look' that the young Angel was giving her was any indication, she was being seen with great affection at that moment.
"Thank you, dear. But right now, I have two things to do."
"What's that?" her daughter asked.
"First, I have to see what the girls and Ranma will need, and add that to the list of what we're short on. Then I can take that, and any 'helpers' that I might have, out shopping."
"That would be nice, wouldn't it?"
"I hope so," Kimiko admitted as she turned towards the door. "Keep an eye on this, would you? I need to see which of the girls would want to go."
"Of course, Mother."
The Tendo Matriarch nodded slightly, and slipped out of the kitchen, looking about at the little children there. Each of the girls was busy with a little something at the moment, but she wasn't aiming for disrupting their enjoyment of their evening. However, she was also aware of the fact that some of them weren't doing things that they wouldn't mind delaying until later, so she didn't mind the idea of interrupting them too much.
But apparently her husband took it as a moment of distress. "Is something the matter?"
"Of course not. What gave you that idea?" Kimiko asked.
"Well, I saw you looking around...."
"I was only seeing which of the girls might be free for a walk to do a little shopping."
"Is that all?" Soun asked, his eyes widening in supply a bit. "I thought that it would be something more."
"No, that is it, dear."
"Why don't you take one of our daughters too?"
"I was just trying to make the girls feel at home. But that might be a good idea. I could even let them keep getting to know each other like that."
Her words made her husband's pop open, and it took him a moment to look like he was hiding something. Yet, he composed himself enough to only look like he'd simply realized something, rather than anything else, before he spoke. "You know, you could take Ranma with you."
"I could?"
"Of course. He... is a boy, and it's the job of men to help women as the need arises. And it would let him get used to our daughters."
"That might be nice. I'll have to see about that."
"Good," Soun replied, and tried not to smile too broadly. His plan was taking a good first step, and now he just had to wait as his wife went to go and set up the trip, while:
