"Are we gonna do somethin' else?" Ranma asked as he looked around expectantly, his eyes wide with the light of enjoyment.

The teaching robot that he'd dubbed 'Miss Mari' clasped her hands in front of herself and smiled at him. "Yes, we are."

"Oooh! What is it?"

"We're going to do something important."

"Yeah?"

"We're going to... give you lessons."

"Hey, that's.... gonna suck," he muttered sourly. "I've gotta go ta school?"

"Not school. But we're going to give you classes."

"Great. I get ta come here, I haveta still go ta school...."

"Not exactly."

"Eh?"

"Keep in mind that we're going to not only fit the lessons to what you can and like to do, but we have a great many 'teachers' who are now free from their regular jobs to teach you," Miss Mari told him.

"And that means...."

"That you will have a chance to learn things like first aid, physics, and vehicle operation."

"What'd that do?"

"They'd help you in dealing with the martial arts, for one...."

"Cool! Let's go!" he chirped, and bounced off in the direction that she indicated.

She turned to face the opposite way, and gave a friendly smile at the shape in the shadows. "You really don't want to do that."

"But, I do want to do this," the bulky robot commented, holding a stun baton and some restraints.

"No, you don't...."

"I said that I do. And you can't stop me unless you have some sort of big weight behind your attack."

In response, Miss Mari merely pointed above the other robot's head.

That made the robot look to where she'd gestured... so that he saw that there was one of the massive cylinders that they used to pack material down over his head. "That'll do it."

"Good. I'm so glad that we've had this conversation."

He'd heard that there was something that he could use there, and he wasn't about to pass it by when he knew that this could be the opportunity that he'd been waiting for. If he passed it by, and this was what could give him what he'd wanted, it would delay him at the very least.

That was why he was following up on almost every story, legend, news article or rumor that he could about things that had 'special' powers or abilities.

After all, he still had a son out there somewhere, and without the boy, he wouldn't be able to keep his freedom, his retirement, or his head, and he was kind of attached to them all.

So, up the mountainside he climbed, sweat making his gi stick to his body as he strained to continue. Somewhere up there was a relic that he'd heard about, and he'd been hoping that it would have some sort of power that would allow him to locate his son. Searching deserts, exploring towns, diving underwater, or checking out caverns, he'd do it all until the day when his boy and he would be reunited.

Of this, he was certain, and he was sure that he'd do it well, while:
